Okay, new week what have you guys been doing.
Because we had a power shortage, I started playing Metroid on the DS, I am trying to kill Kraid. Played a little of Zero Missions, and I started playing Galaxy again. It is so much fun getting the star again, while using plenty of shortcuts.
DEAD SPACE IS AWESOME!!!
Thats what I have been doing.
Shoot, neither of those even comes close to ferociousness of this mean kitty!
I've played nothing this weekend. Spent most of it studying for my Business Calculus test tomarrow.
I've been playing PHP 5. The controls are a little unintuitive but the pacing is great and the price is right.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileYeah. I second that. If ever there was a soul mate for Samus, this dude is him!
Been playing that during the evening, Saints Row 2 during the day...
...and a bit of Dragon Quest IV when I've been on the road.
If this is the calm before the storm of the oncoming week, I don't think I am ready for next week!
Okay Yoda, you better have driver ants and not the Osuzumebachi (Japanese giant hornet) in this video!
*Watches video
Bah, giant hornets it is. And Hamster your kitty is a pussy!
Okay still not convinced.
Check this out from Wiki
Adult honey badgers rarely serve as prey for lions and leopards; their ferocity and thick, loose skin makes it difficult to grip or suffocate them. Old, weak honey badgers are more likely to fall prey to leopards, lions, and pythons, but even old honey badgers will defend themselves as vigorously as possible. In one case, shown on a television program[citation needed] on Animal Planet, an old female honey badger that was nearly toothless and blind in one eye was attacked by a leopard. It took the leopard approximately one hour to kill the honey badger.
Or how about this
The Killer badger is a creature found in a number of modern urban myths from Basra (Al Basrah) province, Iraq, where it was said to have attacked both people and livestock. It has since been identified as the honey badger, inflated by rumor.
The most fearless animal, no discussion possible
Hey guys see that? My Wario Land Shake review! Go to the reviews and read now!
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
I've been playing Dead Space and is indeed totally fucking awesome. I'm currently at the start of chapter 7.
Excellent review Punk, its been nearly two weeks since I beat so I have to get a review done but you basically did it for me. Guys he describes the game perfectly. Its nothing special, I can see a few people really liking it but for most its just that ok game that you play and forget.
I am surprised this game did not get better reviews. There is no doubt its AAA quality from beginning to end.
You finished it? Satisying ending? Anyway yeah so far I find it hard to imagine why anyone would give this less then a 9. It's solid through and through. I guess there might be little issues here and there but it's very hard really to find much to fault this game about.
Seriously why the fuck are people praising this game so highly as well defending it? It is NOTHING special at all and actually takes the platforming genre backward. Remember my "My Problem with 2D Games" essay? Yeah this game could be the poster child for it.
This game didn't do well in Japan and so far it's looking to do the same in North America. And honestly I'm not surprised. I mean Nintendo's games become popular due to word of mouth and well that certainly isn't going to happen with this game being one of the most boring games ever. But I'm sure Nintendo will think that the problem with the game was that it was 2D instead of being boring. I mean the Paper Mario series always sold like shit right?
It just saddens me that the gaming community praises this game. I mean yes while I didn't enjoy Bioshock or Super Smash Bros. Brawl I at least understood why people could like those games so (I.E. Bioshock with its theatric atmosphere and Brawl for it being an excellent brawler). But this game? It's just meh. I mean there are no qualitys of it. And I made sure I played the game correctly as well (I.E. this isn't a "your playing it wrong" problem). It's just meh. If this game was in 2.5D NOBODY would be talking about it.
But leave it to "hardcore gaming" and "hardcore gamers" to give such an average game such high praise. I guess people said "Well it's 2D, plays traditional, and is from Japan so it must be great!". I mean I know I've said this before but I'll say it again. It's just fucking ridiculous that shit like this gets praised to high heavens while games like Contact and Odin Sphere get shit on for trying something different and/or people playing them wrong. But hey all is well and good I mean Suda-51 wants to make Contact 2 but is having a hard time because it wasn't so successful and it seems that all of the tactics, alchemy, and strategy that made Odin Sphere so great in the first place is being replaced by 99 hit combos in its spiritual "successor". Who cares that Contact bringing upon a new interesting way of role-playing or that Odin Sphere offered a new type of battle genre that could become in harmony with the RTS and TBS genres. Let's just keep playing games with side-scrolling flashy combos and mediocre "platformers" with jaw-dropping sprites. Man I love "hardcore gaming".

Play fighting games!
To be fair, your description well fits Wario Land 4, which also got high praise.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI've actually played few of the Wario Land games.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
I only played WL4. That was plenty.
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThe only Wario game that I've played was Wario Land on Virtual Boy. It was a decent game, but it had me seeing red by the end.
You all need to play Wario Land 2. BRILLIANT platformer.
I've been slogging through a little Bleach Dark Souls (great), Picross DS (awesome), Burnout Paradise and GTA. I want to finish that game before the end of the year.
As well as that, my mate had a copy of High School Musical 3 for the DS. Why? I don't know. I gave it a shot, and I was stunned. It's basically Gitaroo Man with shitty music and tonnes of annoying quizzes. The first part blew my mind...and it also has achievements via an interesting little service known as DGamer..
It's good to hear that the VG Press is on its way. You know how we suggested to do a podcast? How about we try get one done for the sites launch? Can be just a brief introductory thing to who we are, what the site's about and maybe sneak in some "whatcha been playing" and some news discussion. Any takers?
I'm in for the early podcast provided we can schedule it, preferrably the weekend on which I'd essentially be available all hours. It would also provide an opportunity for everyone to get in some questions about the new site given at the time you still wouldn't have seen it
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobilePrecisely. If we do this, we'll need to be sure to get everyone not only at a computer on the Weekend, but also at a time where they'd be comfortable.
We'd also want to make sure that we can record the thing decently. The big problem with something like Skype is that it doesn't record internally - you need other stuff to do that. You could record through someones speakers, but then you run the risk of having the audio sound like shit, unless you can find a work around for that.
What I do with my podcast is that we record two things - while having the same conversation. I record my part using Audacity, my co-host records his part via Garageband, I send my part to him, and he syncs the two tracks up - gets near perfect quality.
I'll have plenty of time after this week to properly go through everything, should we need it.
