I've been meaning to buy The Children of Hurin for a couple months now, but every time I end up leaving the book store with another book under my arm. Last time I got The Swarm and the time before that I got Pillars of the Earth. I'm definitely getting it next time. ^__^
My daughter finished it this weekend. She loved it so that got me intrigued. Maybe I'll give it a spin later.
I fooling around and finding shortcuts in Mario Galaxy. I found that you can skip the swimming parts in Beach Bowl Galaxy. In the first star mission, go on the rock and longjump on top of the palmtree to the left. Than backflip-spin-wallkick-spin to reach the upper part. You can skip the entire swimming part of this level. With luigi you can just simple triple jump from the ground to reach it. The rest of the level you can use triple jump to skip the timed switches segments.

I also found that you do not need to use the spring Mario. Just backflip-spin-wallkick-spin to reach the top. Also found a shortcut, by jumping on the left hand of the robot, than jumping on his shoulder, than jumping on his neck and triple jumping on his head.
Well it should be easier to show a video. This video shows almost the same shortcuts I used.

I dont get or like NIGHTS wii at all but it's much better with wii pointer than analogue IMO.
I have this Bestiary book of LOTR which has these great paintings of scenes from all the books. The story of ungoliant was great. I personally wouldn't bother with children of hurin. It reads almost exactly the same as it does in the unfinished tales/simillarion but since it's disjointed it actually makes more sense and better reading as part of the simirillion.

Almost any level in Galaxy has multiple shortcuts. If you see something you just think you can jump to, you probably can! Bill Trinen said the gravity mechanics will lead to insane shortcuts, he was not kidding. I will now take a break in fluid dynamics to read up on the news.

To answer your other question - I've been playing very little. Though the news on more Street Fighter IV machines in Melbourne (and nearly readilly accessible to boot!) will give me an opportunity to do a write up on it, assuming that no one has already played it and done the same.
Not much now. It's about 8:48am on another cold day in Melbourne, I just finished my Hot Chocolate, and I'm about to head to the first lecture of the day.
