I love the Dead Rising name, DR mixed with RE4, maybe it makes it an even better game, I am excited.

I think they showed Wii motionplus to steal the thunder of the 360 Newton and the PS waggle or something. Maybe they believed the rumour to be true.
Did you play the original? I think you would enjoy this game a lot especially now they are aiming to fix all the flaws of the original. This is Godmode's favourite game.
There is a sonic video? I saw a video on youtube but it was a fake apprarentely. It looked like sonic and shadow standing side my side, hacking away at something in lameness.
I think they showed it before the MS press conference for that reason but I think they had to reveal it now so there could be some software to support it next year other than Wii resort. Remember when they unveiled the wii controller in october 2005 then released in November 06?
If reggie is telling the truth (lying bastard) than nintendo only showed games that are going to come out in the next 5 months. That means they may reveal some 09 games later this year?

Well parts of Europe it's due to piracy being that people don't have much money. Others I'm not really sure. I guess probably because games that appealed to them as PC's were Western donimate and consoles were Japanese. But that still has a bunch of loopholes to it.
I only know a lot about the North American and Japaense gaming markets and their history, not much about the others.

Yeah I played Dead Rising, enjoyed it but it felt like a beat em up on a huge scale. The shooting was terrible. I think with RE4 like gameplay this game could be better.
Can I get a hell yeah? Not only was the shooting terrible but there were some sections were you pretty much had to use the guns.
You'll have to change the subtitle on your dead rising story Dvader. Sven says it's not a port.
That RE5 MTV interview is lame.
I've always hated MTV and the way they've ruined a lot of the music industry by brainwashing kids into listening to crap. And by the dumb questions they asked in this interview, their game section doesn't seem too much better.
I'm getting a bad feeling about RE5, and I can't explain it. I'm just nowhere near as hyped for it as I was for really, ANY of the older games. I know a huge part of that is because of the departure of Mikami and others from the team. Over time, its become obvious that this new director isn't really capable of coming up with genius ideas like Mikami, he just borrows other people's ideas. That's why RE5 looks like Gears of RE4.
I think its going to be a case where the game is a clone of the last one with better graphics and a few things ripped from other games....except the actual heart of the game...the story, pacing, environments, etc, aren't going to be anywhere near RE4 (like RE0 compared to Code Veronica, or REmake. Same basic package, just not even close to as good.)
I also think the parts of the game that stand out, aren't really going to even feel like they belong in a RE game.
I don't know, I just get a very "focus group" kind of vibe from RE5, for lack of a better explanation. I don't feel the love put into it that RE4 had in droves....RE5 just feels like a reaction to what everyone wants, or thinks is cool to do right now. Where's the "I'm a rebel, I don't give a fuck, I love doing this and relish in innovation" that RE4 had? RE5 is like "Gee, we'd better put out a new game. Lets see, copy Mikami's gameplay....and add in co-op and make the game look like one of those western war games that are all the rage right now" kind of deal.
Does anybody know how many guys are working on this game, that also worked on RE4?
All in all, I'm actually more excited for Silent Hill 5 and Dead Space right now.
I understand what you are saying Edge, I feel the same about most of it. Still doesn't change the fact that it looks like it still has the RE4 gameplay, so that alone makes it better than 90% of the games out there now. Plus co-op will be awesome, watch. It will start off a pain cause I will want to play alone first but once you start playing with friends it will probably be a blast. I think they should have separated the two better, like two different campaigns but whatever.
I have no doubt it will be a fantastic game, will it be better than RE4 is the question, I doubt it for the reasons you mentioned.
