I finished Astro Bot, review is up. Finished Outlaws, review in a few days. I started Prince of Persia Lost Crown and wow yeah this game is fantastic. It's also hard as balls, maybe hard mode is real hard mode lol. There are these challenge levels, a bunch of them, but every one is like the final challenge of most platformers. The best comparison is Guacamelee, it's better I think.

Well guys can you feel it. It's Zelda week!!!!

Love the enthusiasm.

This is why I don't watch the news. That's the first three stories on CNN.

I tried Doom Eternal (PS5) this afternoon at 120 fps. I was surprised that the visual quality didn't reduce all that much; barely noticeable. Ultra smooth movement, though. Much more precise controls, bit easier to see where I'm going during all the chaos since I was able to turn off motion blur. That being said, it didn't really translate to me playing much better, lol.

I really did not care for the sequel. The original reboot was amazing. It was, as you said, chaotic - completely without order, while enforcing a very strict way to play without sufficiently explaining itself. Do yourself a favour and play Doom 1 + 2 instead.

I'm feeling very little hype.  It feels very strange to say this about a mainline Zelda game, but I'll wait for the reviews.  I've never been one for expermenting much in BotW or TotK, so building a whole game around this type of gameplay doesn't push the right buttons for me.

Ah, but Doom Eternal isn't a sequel to the Doom series, though. It's id Software's take on Super Mario Bros. Nyaa

While I agree that Doom 2016 is a better game, Doom Eternal is a great game too. Everything in this game is a puzzle, including the battle arenas. I like that a lot. Unfortunately, the combat is way, way too difficult for me, and I'm playing on easy! LOL If it had come out 20 years ago, I would have beaten it on Hard five times and loved every minute of it.

What’s this new mystery Nintendo device? / Nintendo has filed a new 24GHz wireless device with the FCC — and it isn’t the Switch 2.

Nintendo has submitted a mysterious new wireless device to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) this weekend, and it isn’t the Switch 2 console we’re expecting to be revealed before next April. The CLO-001 model number doesn’t reveal what it actually is, but it appears to be an entirely new product line given the “001” codes used on devices like the original Switch (HAC-001) and DS (NTR-001) consoles.

It’s tagged only as a “wireless device,” not a “wireless game console” or any kind of controller like a Joy-Con. A basic diagram within the documents

A basic diagram within the documents shows an outline of where the FCC label will be “displayed in a depression area on the bottom” of something with a squarish footprint and rounded-off corners.

The documents also show that there’s no body-worn accessory involved with the testing and that it doesn’t have a battery and can only operate plugged in — it was connected to the same USB-C charger that Nintendo ships with its Switch consoles in tests, but that only reveals it can be powered by

The CLO-001 is surprisingly light on wireless technology — there’s no 5GHz or 6GHz Wi-Fi radio and no Bluetooth, but it does sport a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio and a 24GHz mmWave sensor.

The 24GHz mmWave sensor is the most interesting detail we have. It could be a radar sensor to track movement, like closely following gestures or detecting when someone is nearby the device, causing it to turn on automatically like we’ve seen in the 60GHz sensors found in devices like the Pixel 4 and Aqara’s smart home presence sensor.

The Wi-Fi hardware in the first-gen Switch was created by Cypress Semiconductor, a company that was acquired a few years ago by Infineon, which is now promoting the capabilities of its 24GHz radar sensor

s.24GHz radar can provide a detection range of up to 100m, with penetration possible through obstacles, at the tradeoff of a larger size and lower resolution, according to Infineon. We couldn’t tell which hardware is inside this device, but the Infineon website includes comparisons to 60GHz sensors.

So then... what is it? Guesses include a new gesture control interface, an upgraded dock for some kind of device at Super Nintendo World theme parks,or maybe even a return of the “Quality of Life” sleep tracking initiative Nintendo attempted a decade ago. It could also be something to support AR features by detecting real-world objects — meaning it could be used for new Mario Kart Live hardware or even a Pokémon Go-like system.

It really is anyone’s guess right now

Wireless dock I reckon, or some motion control detector.^

I'm stuck on level 4 act 2 of Ganryu 2.

I just don't get this bit where you have to bounce off wooden poles to get through spikes. It just doesn't work. I managed to get through using invincibility, but then you die a bit later and when you respawn your invincibility power is gone and you're screwed.

I’m going to say that it’s a wireless dildo. You all know I’m right.

Switch 2 is messing with my Switch OLED decisions.

For a start I've filled up 1tb of sd cards and I'm sick of having to swap out sd cards. Unlike the game carts you have to power off and reboot to switch sd cards.

So I was going to get a tb card,  but uncertainty over Switch 2 is holding me back.
Is it backwards compatible? Will it require SD expeess cards to work? Will it work with older normal sd cards?

Even if it does, will there only be 1 micro sd card slot? Which means I'd still have to swap cards out. I was planning to sell my OLED to migrate everything to Switch 2, but now I'm thinking it might be better not selling it.

Then there's joycons. I've been watching multiple video reviews saying the Mobapad m6 HDs are the best joycons you can buy. But they're £60 and probably won't attach to Switch 2.

I could get the 8bitdo pro 2, the best pro controller other than the 8bitdo Ultimate, but again, it might not be compatible with Switch 2. And I'd rather have the mobapad joycons because you can use them attached or unattached.

Plus, I'm sick of the broken buttons instead of a dpad. The amount of times I've handed a joycon to someone else to play multiplayer is utterly dwarfed by the time I've played solo.

Why can't they just do a circle magnetic attachment so you can switch the dpad in and out?

The hori dpad joycon is good but you can't use it for tv play. Did Nintendo make them gimp it or did hori do this as a cost cutting measure?

I liked Eternal more, like you said every combat experience is like a puzzle. To me it's like solving problems at ridiculous speeds while everything is trying to kill you, it's brilliant. The level design was great as well.

no no no. That is not what Doom is.  Doom is not puzzle solving, it's about mowing everyone the fuck down (with occasional wall humping to open secreet rooms). LOL
