I’m very fine with the Switch 2 if those leaked pics are accurate. Love the larger screen. Since the system is larger then the joycons will be larger as well.

I never had a problem with joycons until recently.
It's because I started playing a lot of 2D arcade games and Genesis games. I have a hori dpad joycon that's not bad but I still seem to be unable to do moves in SF2 I used to be able to do on a regular basis. Like Fei Longs triple punch thing.
But also the size of the buttons on the right joycon. It's fine for virtually everything but on occasion playing arcade games they are so small I end up hitting the wrong button.

And on Genesis collection the right stick does a quick save. So on Eswat when I want to hover and shoot I end up pressing the right stick slightly. I end up with a giant yellow circle trying to auto save on the screen.

I wish they would space the buttons out more.

Yeah I never had too much of an issue with the joycons with the occasional exception here and there as well. Larger joycons will be better though. I mostly use the Pro controller though and will likely do the same with the Switch 2.

Wish I could use my Hori Split Pad Compact on Switch 2. Those are great.

But Eurogamer:

Nintendo fans are frothing over freshly-posted images purporting to show the under-wraps Switch 2. The pictures include apparent 3D models of the console and its Joy-Con, as well as photos of the console's shell - including its circuit board.

In general, the images depict a console almost identical to the current Switch, albeit with a larger screen size and what look to be magnets on the sides of its Joy-Con.

These details match with previous publicly-reported details of Switch 2, but do little to verify the images themselves. Indeed, doubt has been poured over the pictures - originally posted to a Chinese social media site then shared more widely via reddit - since it was discovered the original poster was a 3D design and model enthusiast.

The original post author has since deleted the images from their social media profile - which also includes detailed models of Black Myth Wukong figurines and other creations, crafted by someone clearly capable of copying and recreating 3D designs.

Still, the two photographic images posted alongside the 3D models do warrant some closer inspection - and in particular, the photo that appears to show the Switch 2's PCB (printed circuit board).

The detail shown on this board is remarkable, and the PCB number printed on it lines up with leaked shipment data for parts used in Switch 2 prototypes last year. Could the photos show a real prototype from which the poster of these images was recreating their own 3D models? Perhaps, though even then this would come with the caveat that the model that has since been superseded, and shouldn't be expected to translate exactly to the final article. In other words, even if this is real, it's out of date.

This is the most interesting/plausible Switch 2 leak image - looks like some rough prototype components. Why fake a mainboard? Pay attention to the small size of the battery chamber and keep expectations firmly in check on handheld performance. pic.twitter.com/M3DKSFnt3C

Nintendo really needs to make that Switch 2 announcement already.

I've had a ton of problems with joycons mainly because of kids who are careless. They've matured a lot now, but at one time, I had my own joycons and a pro pad that was only gor me until they started tsking care of things.

The Switch 2 may feature two USB-C ports--one on the bottom, and one on the top, which could allow the device to connect to a secondary external display while on-the-go. The rumored dual-screen design may not be the typical DS-like clamshell that everyone was expecting, but instead refer to this external display support.

It's also highly likely that the USB-C port at the top is made for more convenient charging.

I expect Nintendo announce that there won't be any annoucements for new hardware this year.

Then people will be like, "calendar year or fiscal?!"

I always hated letting the nephew's use the joycons in their own house, especially as Arms was a favourite. They have hard stone tiled floors and anything they drop tends to shatter on it, including tv remotes.

So regarding the USB C port on the top... Switch "Attach"? Rumour?

Someone said it might be for charging in tabletop mode.

Hopefully some bright spark will develop a portable USB c stick with massive capacity, that clips onto the system somehow.

Been listening to the latest GUPodcast.  Good call on calling out AI for being postmodern, one of the best takes I've heard on all of your podcasts, really enjoyed it.  It's definitely for the show an above average enjoyable installment.  yes

I'm going to go on record to say that I think those Switch2 images are fakes, even the prototype ones.  I'm going to be basing this on the use of regular screws for the joycons, where Nintendo always uses the 3-pronged alternative so you have go through the lengths of buying such a screwdriver if you want to open up your system.  I also don't believe that Nintendo would copy the design of the Switch down to the placement and size of the buttons, vents and ports.  Nintendo would at least change the port so that you can't accidentally slip the Swith2 into a Switch dock.

I also hope it's fake, because the last thing I need is a photo button on both joycons.  I accidentally hit the one on Switch enough to not need a second one.

Apparently the physical photos of the internals have x6 written on it, which according to shipping info, means it's a prototype from last year. The current prototype is x8.

In terms of the dock connections I'd say it's deliberate, because the OLED dock is actually 4k compliant. So if you have an OLED dock you now have two docks when you get a Switch 2 and can live the good life as I do, flipping the OLED between tvs with ease.

SNES Battletoads & Double Dragon is on NSO. I haven't played it before. I probably can't make it past the first level, lol, but I'll try it later today anyway.
