I'm hard-pressed to think of the last time a big budget came like this bombed so hard.
Are you thinking they will move on to 9? I guess it is time.
I’m expecting Mario Kart 9 and new 3D Mario game will be launch games.
It seems (I have not played) an okay game, but without the players it's not going anywhere. If they want to recoup anything they'll have to make it free for play in a hurry. Or just admit that the service game idea the last CEO was driving is no longer important to them and re-use the assets for soemthing else. It's a trainwreck alright.
But so was No Man's Sky, Cyber Punk and FF14, and all those turned around.
FF14 got an absolute flogging when it came out.
Mario Kart is currently in a similar position as Smash Bros. The last game was the ultimate game in the franchise to end all games. It'll be a very tough act to follow up on. I hope that whatever they came up with doesn't alter the formula too much. I'm still no big fan of the change from 8 to 12 racers per race.
Or Fortnite for that matter.
Very true.
Among Us Phoenix Wright Mash Up
Looking for a cheap SNES style controller to work wireless on Switch. Any ideas?
8bitdo makes some really good quality SNES controllers. Amazon sells them. About $35-50USD depending on features.
I think the big difference with those is that they all sold pretty well when they initially came out. With Concord, people took a look at it and just turned their nose at it. If someone figures out a way to save it, they're going to earn a piece of Sony forever.
Yeah, looking forward to picking up Astro Bot this Friday.
Concord just looks like such a lame rip off of Guardians of the Galaxy. If I want to play a hero shooter I’ll play Marvel Rivals. Now that’s a game that actually has characters that interest me.
That's the impression that I get. I think the only way they see any success with it is making it free to play with microtransactions. So now they have to figure out how to implement those changes.
Someone noticed in Concord's credits mentions PvE content (I'm getting so old I had to look what PvE stands for, lol) sounds like it was planned to have a single player and/or co-op gameplay too but launched without it.
If you read the reviews there are a few ways for them to tweak this and make it work. Once it's free to play they'll get swamped with people just playing it to see what the commotion was about and hopefuly fo rthe poor developers who worked on this for years enough of them will stick to give them some job security for some years.
Here is Square Enix' TGS lineup:
I've bolded all the games I care about.
