However, there's also an odd bug in this mission where a random NPC occasionally gets killed. He actually has nothing to do with this particular mission, but he shows up on a street corner, and occasionally a stray bullet will hit him. And even though he's not involved with the mission, If that stray bullet hits him, you lose.
Yeah for sure. I’ll be all over that when it launches.
Have not seen any trailers yet. I am somewhat bummed for the Coalition that they did not get to finish the story arc the new Gears sequels were working on, but as a more than better consolation it will be fun to get back to Dom and the gang -- I hope the game is a return to the dumb and fun version of Gears.
Fuck that. You love that game. I loved it as well, it was a meticulously well made game (but for what you are describing). The loss of Pandemic Studios is one of the worst studio closures I can think of.
Haven't seen anything yet from Xbox, but general consensus seems that it was a good showing. I noticed a lot of games were slated for 2025, which is both far off and not far off. Gamers have been asking where the exclusives were for years now, and will we finally get them in 2025? Is it too little, too late?
I've been playing Splatoon 3 splatzone ranked matches. It was much easier to get wins in last month when I had the same rank, perhaps there's an influx of lapsed players now the new seazon hit?
Since there wasn't an estimated release date on the Perfect Dark trailer, I assume it's going to be released next gen.
I've changed as a gamer, without even realising it.
I saw most of the Xbox trailers and I was just left with the feeling that I'm glad I left this cinematic style gaming behind.
I couldn't even finish watching most trailers out of boredom. I feel hesitant about commenting on it because I feel like I'm trolling.
These days I'll usually just wait for a video review of a game, then shortly buy or reject it. Can't be arsed with years of hype anymore.
These trailers the way they're presented bore me too, it's either woefully droll with barely any gameplay, or it's like wow these graphics.
But shortly after I get the graphical buzz, I feel deflated as if I'm asking the trailer AND?
You have good graphics, as most games do, what are you doing that's different or unique?
Again I feel like I'm trolling. I apologise.
I prefer indie game showcases, but even then the end product can end up as junk.
Now I'm reminded of the reams of AAA 360 games I bought recently but still don't play. Godamn it, got to play gta V already.
Still can't find the will to play this game.
Partly because I cancelled Switch Online.
This is why online should be free.
Yeah, I wanted a Gears 6 as well but was still pleasantly surprised with the Gears of War prequel.
I feel similar. 10 years ago, these trailers would have been a much, much bigger deal to me. Not really anymore. Doom and Perfect Dark look great but will I play them? Maybe. Will I finish them? No, not likely. Same with a lot of PS games too.
My tastes in games have changed. I'm preferring slower-paced games now. Give me Civ 7, Phoenix Wright, and SimCity instead these days.
Felt like there was a decent enough lineup for the rest of this year. There is only like 6 and half months left and December tends to be a little lighter. Need to spread these games out not only with their own games but also third party stuff. Things look pretty stacked for the next year and a half.
No need to apologize, you like what you like. Personally I still get very hyped for this big AAA stuff as much as ever.
In my case I just pay to play Tetris99. Everything else that comes with the sub is just a bonus.
I'll probably get with the times when MonHun Wilds releases, so I can co-op it with my bud.
Question is though, do I get a PS5 or stick with Xbox? I really couldn't care less for Xbox's games, I hardly play on the system myself, and when I do, it's smaller GamePass stuff. Then again, GamePass is pretty sweet and the kids really get much from it. On the other hand, I could see myself enjoying Ratchet and Clank, and stuff like GoW.
I really liked The Dig. Had a great performance by Ralph Fiennes. That's the 2021 movie though.
No need to apologize, that's a legitimate perspective.
I watched the trailers from the XB presentation and I think why MS's showing was so well received was that it was the closest thing resembling the OLD E3 that's been shown this year. I made many notes on the presentation which I'll relay on the next episode of The Game Under Podcast. Mostly positive, but also, good god some of those graphics looked strangely terrible.
Now I've seen the trailer the return of the "of War" to the name -- they could not send a clearer message, OLD Gears is back.
