Aww man. First they get koala's and kangaroo's, and now also the stellar Blade LE burger? Not fair, Australia gets all the fun.  🙁

It's absurd as the population in Australia that even knows what Stellar Blade is would be about 45 people and me and Foolz are two of them.  And I don't eat meat.

Most people will assume it's a porn star - Stella Blade.

So some people have a microplastic fetish.  To each their own and all of that.  Who are we to judge?

The fact that it is hidsous doesn't help. I was close to gettign one as a back-up PS4, but I'm holding out hope for a remodel.

I used to think the PS5 was hideous too, but I don't really think so anymore. I have it horiztonal, which makes it look a lot better, I think.

I'd wait to see what happens with PS5 Pro. It might look better . . . or worse, lol.

On the subject of PlayStations, I just broke out my PS3 and hooked it back up. It's been just long enough since I touched it that I'd forgotten how god-awful the user interface was for it. It really is horrible.

That said, the dualshock 3 is much better than its successor. Sony definitely dropped the ball on their controller for the PS4. That touchpad that the ds4 has didn't have a particularly practical use and was ultimately a burden for it.

I like the XMB interface on PS3, except it was too convoluted. The PS3 is painfully slow.

The PS4's touchpad and light bar were solutions looking for a problem. Neither added anything of value to gaming, IMO. I definitely preferred the larger, more comfortable shape of the PS4 controller.

Yeah, we are fucked.

Yes we are. I was at a big aquarium the other day and there was a little info sign that shook me a little. It said plastics don't break down for they estimate about 500 years, which means that every item made of plastic ever made is still in existence.

Ugh.

I'm just glad my consumer product has no PFAS and we've minimized the plastic to the bare minimum.  Thing is, when you go to any supplier -- say of carboard -- and ask for a PFAS free statement the closest anyone will come is "no PFAS have been intentionally added" because the general assumption is that PFAS are in everything including the water and timber used to make the paper.

I did not mind the "cross bar" navigation. I guess it is what you are used to. I agree on the controllers though. I have big hands (humble brag) and even so the PS4 controller starts to hurt after an hour of playing.

Fuck I go to those sites to stay away from IGN!

They are all UK based sites, so I imagine most of them will be folded into IGN UK -- which is a tiny operation.

Games journalism is no longer a job. I think there are more motion picture "celebrities" than there are people working in the field of enthuisat media for video games.

throw AI like Chet GPT that can write an article that sadly is as good as most run-of-the-mill gaming sites and you don't need to have nearly as many riders either. You just need a handful of people to stream and that's it.

So Atari has acquired in television? 40 years ago that would have been some pretty groundbreaking news. Now this is pretty much the equivalent of one drunk guy trying to pick up his passed out buddy at a bar and shuffle back to their studio apartment.

The Nintendo Switch 2 late launch may have brought some sort of hardware redesign that may impact the console's performance.

In the latest episode of Moore's Law is Dead Broken Silicon podcast, it has been revealed how some people at NVIDIA are confused that the next Nintendo console still isn't out, as the system was supposed to be released in 2023. While it is not yet known why the system still hasn't been released, there's the chance that this delay from the projected release window may have led to some changes to the system design that could impact its performance slightly.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was originally planned to use an 8 nanometers node, but this may have changed due to the console launching in 2025. Nintendo may also have moved to a smaller node, possibly from Samsung, for better power efficiency, more capacity, and reduced cost. As Moore's Law is Dead rightly points out, releasing a new system using a node from 2023 wouldn't be a smart move, as things have changed in the past few years. TSMC, for example, has improved its nodes since then, is charging less for them, and they are easier to produce. If a node shrink or any sort of hardware redesign was made to the Nintendo Switch 2, then there's the chance that it could hit around 4.5 teraflops in docked mode, as opposed to the rumored 4.0 teraflops reported some time back.

‐‐--------------
This is interesting. So we heard it was 8nm. Months ago Necro Felipe from Brasil Nintendo printed all the expected specs. If we compare it to the shipping data components tracking by Famiboards, it's almost identical to what Necro Felipe said months ago.

One interesting thing was his specs had 4nm listed as the node. If you pair this up with Moores Law is Dead, he was saying it would run at really high clocks in docked. A die shrink would allow for better battery and higher clock speeds.

It's all lining up nicely, we had Tom Henderson from insider gaming saying that Switch 2 would be getting a lot of PS5/Xbox Series multiplats said he was really impressed by Switch 2 technology.

Midori has leaked that all Sega and Atlus games are coming to Switch 2. We also had Square Enix saying they were committed to multiple platforms for big games, including Nintendo platforms.

Microsoft will be releasing on it, a lot of MS games are already on Switch.

I can see Capcom porting most of everything they do. I'm surprised they didn't attempt proper ports of RE7 to Switch.

Hopefully, Atari will release an Intellivison collection soon. I'd buy it if it's as well done as Atari 50th was..

I never played an Intellivision, so I'm afraid I really don't know the first thing about it. I'd be down for Colecovision collection though.

I never owned or played an Intellivison either. I've watched a lot of videos about it on YT and it's looks like an upgraded Atari 2600 "Pro" model, so right up my nostalgic alley.

I'd definitely be down for Colecovision collection as well.

Never owned an Intellivion but did play on one way back in the day. Recall playing a baseball game on it.

Playing Hellblade 2 on the XSX and it’s quite a stunning looking game. Facial mo-cap animations look amazing with incredible detail. Environment looks gorgeous as well. Some really cool effects also.
