Amazon sellers pissing me off recently.
Anyone else had the phenomena of sellers sending you alternative items? Like getting a substitution in a grocery shop?
Now this company has sent me a lower spec model of the TV I ordered. The other model is now discontinued but instead of telling me, they just send some other model.
Only they charged me for the more expensive model.
I use amazon when I want decent service. But sometimes its as bad as ebay sellers. Several times in the past amazon sellers have screwed me over.
A godamn map would be useful.
Game feels a touch generic.
Get Tinykin instead.
I only ever buy online from the webshops of actual brick 'n mortar chains as to never have to put up with crap like this. If there isn't a physical store to go and complain, I won't order.
It's more fun to draw your own map, old school style!
Amazon themselves sold and dispatched a TV earlier this week they had mistakenly listed as 4k.
It was a 720p TV FFS
1080p will stick around for a while due to 4K being so resource intensive and so many people using laptops and tablets to view things. New 1080p monitors are ~ as common as 4K.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
It is interesting how Nintendo really has been hands-off with remaking their SNES games over the years. They did it with the fire emblem games, but I think that's more because they never got Western releases in the first place. I now finally we saw them remake Mario RPG, although in fairness I think every other 16 bit Square game got remade, so might as well complete the set with this.
It is interesting though. I knew I was really out of touch with PC gaming, but I really didn't know I was this bad off. I don't know what anything is. I'm browsing on Steam and I just don't even know what the hell I'm looking at for so many of these titles. I guess I'm just going to spend this weekend I'm bringing myself up to speed on what's been released over the past 5 years.
Yeah, I was pretty blown away with the first DKC game back then. Certainly wouldn’t mind seeing those get remade.
It's a shame Retro couldn't remake them. Though their two DKC games were way better.
I'd love to see an HD Remaster of DKC Returns someday. It's hard to go back to it on Wii due to the annoying waggle controls.
So I went to the second world in Yooka Laylee.
As first it was all right, the new scenary and music was a more friendly introduction to the charms of the game.
Until it wasn't.
This game is Flawed as he'll, I don't get how play testers or the developers didn't realise the problems it has.
It comes off as a bland attempt by a less than average indie developer that fails on most points of what it's trying to achieve.
The level layout is terrible, they aren't segmented in any way. They are far too big, with far too little to do. It comes across as empty. The enemies are brainless. The move set tries to emulate basic Mario controls yet feel loose and ineffective.
There are also so many things unexplained, you see stuff you should be able to interact with, and yet seem inert with no description as to what to do or how to interact with them.
The levels are so big it becomes a chore, to the point of quitting mid play to go back to another area.
There's no map, no way to mark or return to a place you spotted before. No fast travel.
You can't even exit the level via the menu, you have to exit the whole game. Or travel miles back to the level entry point.
Even the hub world feels poorly laid out.
I can see this being confined to a Graveyard folder.on my switch menu.
So I bought and played a little of Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen.
I saw some reviews which seemed to love it and I thought I'd enjoy it more than Doom (another sales option)
I'm a touch perplexed with the video quality of the game in YouTube reviews. I started playing and it looks rather sharp and high resolution. Similar to other capcom ports like RE Revelations 2. And seems close to the PS4 version.
The gameplay was okay but was a bit hack.and slashy.
Wish the game had a lock on for the lion thing, leaping about.
Can't be bothered with the character creator yet.
Yeah, I think it was intentionally designed to be a 90s N64 platformer without the improvements to the genre that came later, which is both its charm and annoyance. Reading your post, I'm remembering now why I stopped playing. I intend to return to it someday, though.
You can exit a level with the menu by hitting the + and selecting "Return to Hub" while in a level.
Godamn. Must have missed that.
Bought Mudrunner, as Snowrunner is still too expensive. Would buy Expeditons in a heartbeat if the Switch version didn't look like a DS game.
What a pain. Pretty much the only 4ktv at 32 inches in existence is a Samsung model, q60 variant.
They sell it in the UK but only in 42 inches or larger. Their 32 inch tv is the 2021 1080p version.
In America you can get the 4k version. Ehh
