I'm getting to the age that new apps are becoming too confusing to use. My company forced MS Teams onto us a couple years ago, so instead of just monitoring my email, I also have to check Teams too. It doesn't help that I have no idea how Teams works and more importantly, I don't want to learn. Email is good enough, people!

It's funny you say that. The Teams versus email thing has become somewhat of a problem at my company too. It's getting to the point where we're actually debating putting together a guideline of when you communicate job requests and files through teams versus email.
I just got an email from GameStop offering me $5 off a Pro membership. It made me think for a minute. Historically, the pro membership is really to get the lower price on used games or better trade-in value. But the last couple times I've been to GameStops, they're used. Game selection was pretty damn meager. Even online, it's not particularly good. They had a deal offering half price used games recently, but I couldn't find more than two that I genuinely wanted that were in stock.
So in a time where physical media is going away, why on earth do you need the pro membership?

I manage with it, (teams) but it's just another way for people to interrupt me with shit that if they paused for 45 seconds longer could have figured it out themselves. And a side topic, people who use the words "ASAP" and "emergency" at work have not had enough negative life experiences to know when to appropriately use those fucking words. Examples of when I would text someone to "call ASAP" include:
- My home or farm being on fire.
- My wife or child being injured.
- Being arrested and not have money to post bail.
- Causing unintentional self-harm with a chainsaw or similar implement.

Do they give you a print subscription to Game Informer any more? (He said knowingly while pondering the loss of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED -- WTF?!). When all the magazines are gone, I swear the world will miss them. Fucking internet.
You've reminded me, I have a $25 Gamestop giftcard which I better use before they shut down entirely.
Been catching up on the GU podcast. This new cadence is hard to keep up with. Currenlty listening to ep.147. Kind of confused what this' Aarny 4: remake' game is, but good listening nontheless.
Foolz would have to tell you what the Aarny reference was.
Yep recording every 2 weeks. I am putting in chapter markers too if you get to a section you don;t care about (for easy skipping). Did not do that last show as it was a short one due to power outages).

Joni Mitchell was way ahead of the curve man.

I wouldn't qualify that as asap. I mean, it's not like the problem is gonna get worse or they'll be going anywhere anyway.

Nah, it was just me adapting to your dialect again. On second listening, you might have been taking about Arr Ee 4 remake.

I've probably already shared this anecdote a few times. But speaking of paving paradise and putting up a parking lot, my bowling alley in Costa Mesa, which was a beautiful old place that was built in the 50's and had nothing changed about it since. It was tiki themed, here is a photo:
I used to go there, get a lane for a couple of hours for $12, sometimes with a friend, sometimes not. Drink $2 beers, and shoot pool when I was done bowling. This place was so old you had to keep score on paper.
I drove over there one day to bowl and they had bulldozed it. Gone. Not a trace. A piece of me died that day. I don't think I would have bowled more than 2 or 3 times after that (one day at another alley I accidentally -- at least consciously -- left my bowling bag and shoes in the parking lot, and did not realize they were gone for weeks later.
Anyway, bulldozed, and for what? So the clothing store chain that was built next door could have a parking lot. No joke. That store has since been knocked down and replaced with condos and a grocery store.
As for Teams, I managed to get through Covid without having to use it more than a handfull of times. When I do have to use it, it messes with my mind though. There seem to be 2 versions of it on my computer, and I never know how to log in to which one, or which one I'll end up with.

Mine asks me every day if I want to keep using the new Teams. I wish I could tell it I have no idea what the difference is but I just click okay.

Someone bulldozed a cool drive-in theater in my city to build another fucking Walmart in the early 2000s. I still refuse to shop at that location.
It's back! Walmart is once again offering the Xbox Series S Toaster for $40. Don't be fooled by the $84.49 MSRP listed on the site, though; the toaster launched back in January at a retail price of $39.99. That said, $40 isn't a bad price for a toaster oven, even if it's a meme one like this.

Nope. Digital subscription is for pro members now. Though I think you can still pay for the physical one.
Man, I wish we had palm trees over where I live. We've just got boring plain trees.
I have 2 palm trees in my yard. I actually had 5 when we first bought the house, but they're surprisingly susceptible to disease and 3 died over the years. For the price of having them removed I could have had something a lot cooler than stumps.

The Alters game in the Xbox showcase seems pretty cool. Made by the people who did 'This War of Mine'.
