I’ve been playing Resident Evil 4 Remake this weekend. Am currently playing through on Professional mode. There doesn’t seem to be any damage modifiers but the enemies seem even more aggressive then on Hardcore. Not having those auto save checkpoints can make things quite hairy. Tried out Mercenaries and it’s very fun.
I didn't play much because we were on a citytrip to Athens with our eldest. We prolised him we'd take him somewhere of his choice this year and he chose Athens. I figured he'd go for Rome, but Athens was very nice too.
Great food, the world's oldest cogs, nice weather.
I'll especially miss the weather. It's cold here and will be raining all week.
I did start Kentucky Route Zero however. Eurogamer had an article on Netflix's model for gaming and I checked it out. There are some nice games on there and since I subscribe to Netflix anyway, they're all free. I've been wanring to play KR0 for a long time, so downloading it was a nobrainer.
I am working my way through a second round of Trials of Mana (5th or 6th time if you count the original Super Famicom version). I only intended to play it over the weekend while I waited for my GameStop order to arrive, but now I want to finish it again. It's very much one of my comfort food games.
Playing RE4 almost non stop. On my 5th playthrough, going for pro S+ run now. It's easily one of my favorite games of all time. I cannot stop playing. Full review is up now, it's not as good as the original but still amazing in its own way.
Well it's about time Capcom! I was going to skip RE4 Remake but you finally came through with the glorious micro transactions! Pay-to-win, FTW! Take my money!!! 👍

Forgot about that.
Basically if you have Netflix you can download and play tons of indie games for free on your phone.

By the way, for anyone looking to make a purchase or two, GameStop is running a buy to get one free sale. Kind of making me wish I had put off my purchase last Friday for a few more days.
Graphics are much better, frame rate is dodgy in open areas. The areas are a lot more ambitious than the first game though.
Still has the same atmosphere, intrigue, wonderful art style, good voice acting etc.
It has these on rails runner sections which are like abstract dreams that reinforce a way of thinking. It's not always easy to spot obstacles in the distance, but if you ever hit anything you are respawned instantly within a second of where you died.
Story is interesting so far, like to see where it goes from here.
Also started Retro City Rampage.
Driving controls slightly different from the sequel. Car continues its momentum if you take your thumb off the stick. You seem to have to brake well in advance which is annoying.
The aiming controls lock on and circle strafe, not as good as the sequel.
However despite being 8bit, its gloriously detailed and fun to romp about.
No vacation plans, but may be making a trip to investigate some cities to move to. Hopefully this time next year we're going to be in the process of packing up and moving the fuck out of Florida.

Sure, once I find time. What site do you use to host your pics?
Its been a long time. Used to use imgur or tiny pic.

Why?
It's a couple reasons.
1. Our youngest kid will be graduating high school next year, and we are ready to downsize our house. It was meant for a family of five and whether or not he stays with us, we just don't need all this space.
2. After last year's hurricanes I'm sick and tired of living in an area where I could literally lose everything I own due to the weather.
3. Florida politics are starting to get nasty, particularly ever since our governor decided he wanted to be president and now has to have a conservative dick waving contest with every other candidate out there. I don't see a scenario where we become more moderate again, so if there's an opportunity to not deal with it, I'll take it.
That's also what's happening in Florida. Tons of people are moving here and homes and rent (and home insurance) are getting nuts. The upside I'm going to be able to sell my house for probably $150K more than I paid for it.
As far as where we're going we've got a short list. North Carolina is at the top of the list and where I suspect we'll end up. Parts of Georgia and South Carolina are possibilities too. And in the really unlikely candidates, Massachusetts and New Mexico are the dark horses.
I also played Dirt 5 for a couple hours yesterday.

After you get the good ending it unlocks a mode where you can have any character dance wherever you like. It's awesome.
The end credits was a musical song and dance featuring all surviving characters. Haven't laughed as hard in a while.

I voted with my wallet and bought them all.

The prequel to Road 96.

Any idea on what state you'll move to?
