I liked the narrator. Best part of the game I thought.

It seems that a whole generation of superstars is slowly coming to its end.

It might be me, but I always felt that there wasn't much to follow them up.  There seems to be a gap in the 90's and 00's where not many stars of that era have withstood the test of time, let alone are still active today.  I also wonder if today's fragmentation of the media is making it harder for superstars to emerge.  Back then you had radio and TV and that was it, everyone followed those.  These days the media landscape is much more diverse and potential fans will be scattered.  But because of that same fractured media it has become much easier and cheaper for talent to get noticed, also resulting in a lot more people gaining some level of fame, possibly making it harder for some to rise above that white noise of 'medium stardom'?

Although most likely, it's just me getting old and not noticing new superstars.

Phil Spencer said:

They have a long history in video games. Nintendo’s not going to do anything that damages gaming in the long run because that’s the business they’re in. Sony is the same and I trust them. … Valve’s the same way. When we look at the other big tech competitors for Microsoft: Google has search and Chrome, Amazon has shopping, Facebook has social, all these large-scale consumer businesses. … The discussion we’ve had internally, where those things are important to those other tech companies for how many consumers they reach, gaming can be that for us.

Phil Spencer said:

I think we do have a unique point of view, which is not about how everything has to run on a single device or platform. That’s been the real turning point for us looking at gaming as a consumer opportunity that could have similar impact on Microsoft that some of those other scale consumer businesses do for other big tech competitors. And it’s been great to see the support we’ve had from the company and the board.

That really puts things in perspective doesn't it?

I'm calling it now: in the future, when you buy a game in the Xbox shop, it won't download.  Some underpaid, slightly shady looking, most likely illegal immigrant will come around in a green van the other day and deliver it to your doorstep.

Dear god, Louie Anderson also died today. The first time I ever watched a stand-up comedy special it was his.

He did. In the mid-90s on Fox kids, he had a show that was based on his childhood called Life with Louie. Although, it was a very whitewashed look at his life because he's a real childhood was not good at all.

That was also part of a really weird trend in the early to mid-90s where stand-up comics were getting cartoons that basically featured younger versions of themselves. Howie mandel, Roseanne barr, Damon wayans, and Louie Anderson all had their own cartoons. They were probably others too that I forgot about.

There's currently a 'back compat' sale on Xbone with some great discounts.

I just bought Killer is dead for €3 and am thinking of getting Timesplitters2 for even less.

How is Far Cry 3?  I haven't played any ubisoft open world game and it's currently less than €4.

Yeah, I saw that sale. I bought Midway Arcade Origins for $5. Great collection of 80s arcade classics.

Sup, Far Cry 3 is definitely worth it.  One of the better Ubisoft games.

I’m mulling over a few titles in there myself. Thinking about getting Asura’s Wrath and Killer is Dead.

I always wanted to play Killer is Dead. I didn't think it was going to be particularly good after the reviews, but Suda51's games are usually interesting enough to give them a shot.
