I've had SSD in my PC for about 8 years now.

Exactly my point.  It's much faster, but it's nothing new.  Just new on console.  And the only reason it is a thing is because of how large games have become.

The only game that really used it well was the ball guessing game in 1-2-Switch.  That was a phenomal peek into the possibilities of the tech.  Mario Kart was ok, although I hate how they use the rumble to create a 'ping' sound every time you pick up a coin.

Arms uses it very well. You have to play motion style. Try out the different arms, the one that bounces is mind blowing.

I've played ARMS, but haven't used the bouncing arm as it's a moronic weapon.  Will try it out some time.

Blizzard pulls pro-gamer from tournament over Hong Kong support

Man oh man, Blizzard fucking stepped in it at a Hearthstone tournament. Hell, they utterly shit the bed really. If you haven't read the article or seen the news over the past 2 days, a pro-gamer from Hong Kong won a tournament and then made statement supporting Hong Kong supporters. Blizzard is trying to win over the Chinese market and apparently this can't be allowed. The results weren't pretty.

Normally I'm pretty apolitical when it comes to gaming, but then again most gaming companies are too. But this is so over the top and so completely wrong that it's hard to just brush it off. So after 4 years I've deleted Hearthstone. I never spent a ton of money on it, though I have dropped a couple bucks here and there, but I"m sure they won't miss me. Supposedly a lot of people are doing it though, and who knows, maybe there will be enough people that Blizzard will at least forced to regret it a bit.

I think the NBA is going through a similar issue when one of the owners tweeted in support for Hong Kong.

There's another company that's in the same situation right now too. Can't remember them, but it's definitely a hot news topic right now.

I wasn't even aware that one existed. I tried the capcom one for about 5 minutes and then gave up on it. An alternative would be nice though, however I know I'm going to have a really hard time be programming myself from the hearthstone rules.

I hate the weapon but the feeling is so good I literally put it on training mode to feel the sensation. Also that humming floating shield is great. It's unlike any other switch game with rumble.

It's called The Elder Scrolls: Legends. It came out in 2017 on Windows, iOS, Android. I haven't played it myself, though

I will give it a chance and see if it's any good. I don't know much about the Elder Scrolls mythos, but I suppose I didn't know anything about WoW's when I started playing that either.

I know we're well passed the weekly 'what did you play over the weekend' update, but I figured I'd report on our latest adventures in Sea of Thieves nontheless.

We managed to get a good session going that lasted us for over 3 hours.  We dug up some treasure, got blown to bits by kamikaze skeletons with barrels of gunpowder fairly often (or at least I did) and managed to come out victorious against a skeleton boss.  Of which we then lost the spoils as I grabbed his precious skull and stored it in my inventory, only to find out it's a non storeable object and I probably just dropped it on the sand of whatever lagoon we were on at the time.  Before logging off for the night, we decided to head over to one of the mysterious phenomena we could spot in the distance which looked like a geyser of Aurora Borealis.  We felt pretty confident, having stocked up both on wood and canonballs, and set off.

Turns out that the one we picked was set on the exact opposite end of the map, taking us well over half an hour to get there, navigating through dense fog and around active vulcanoes.  About half way through we spotted a shark's fin in the distance, which grew to monstrous proportions as it drew closer, revealing itself to be the feared Megalodon.  The beast circled our ship a couple of times before charging right at us, ramming our vessel causing leaks to sprout all over.  We tried fighting it off, but aparently hitting a moving target, albeit a big one, from a rocking ship is pretty hard.  After a while the beast grew tired of chasing us and let go, but it keept doggedly following us and attacking us every so often all the way across the map.  By that time we had cannon balled our last cannon ball and planked all but our last plank.  We could see our watery grave before us in the not too distant future but it turned out to be the origin of the polychromatic geyser, a sinking ship.  We dove straight in the water and into the ship.  This action thought us 2 valuable lessons: A) you can drown if you stay underwater for too long, as my mate soon found out.  B) there be sharks in the water, as my mate soon found out.  Thanks to a heroic dive by yours truely, in which I navigated the sinking ship's multi storied interior we retrieved the precious treasure from within.  We collected a few spare planks and cannon balls from the rubble surrounding the ship and made our way back to the most nearby trading out post, set on a stunning vulcanic island with geysers that shook the whole island.

Fun times.

Yup.  It's also the perfect game to casually play, as everyone is on a level playing field.  All upgrades are cosmetic.  You might spot someone with a fancy looking ship, but that's all it is 'fancy looking'.

I saw that last week and my wife was completely weirded out by it. I tried to explain that it was based on the now delayed movie, but I'm not sure she bought it. And to be fair it really does look like a "my first furry costume."
