Why haven't you guys got this fixed? It sounds ridiculous. In a 3rd person game your character will constantly move. Just email Nintendo this video and any other links to prove your case. I have done this before many times, wii red and green dot problem, DS Lite cracked hinge, left joycon. They have always fixed it in days and for free.

Well yeah sure I should bug Nintendo to get it fixed but it’s still a problem that Nintendo needs to address and fix at the manufacturing level.

I deleted the app as it's practically useless. I know it started, I hope to play some tomorrow evening and will probably get properly in it during the evenings over the weekend.
I found out an alternate explanation for the perceived larger strength of the opposition's weapons: a lot of the higher level players have gear fully loaded with custom perks, often one that increases the power of the main weapon. I like the perk system, but not so much how it became something you can farm in this sequel.

Speaking of Joycons, I picked up The World Is Not Enough....wait....I mean The World Ends With You, on Switch. Unfortunately, you HAVE to use the joycons with this game. Why they didn't redesign the controls to just be normal I don't know. But the little I played felt really awkward. Seems like a neat game but the controls are going to annoy the hell out of me. You don't even use both joycons...just one half of them. I feel like I'm playing a game with my car starter.

They had damage up in Splatoon 1. Main power up was a recent edition to Splatoon 2. Most people don't use it and the effects vary depending on the weapon you use. With guns it usually improves the accuracy or output spread. It doesn't make the guns more powerful. It does make the rollers more powerful but they are still incredibly hard to win with given the stage design and sub pairings etc

The more I think about that new model of the Switch the more I kind of want it. It’s not that there’s a new battery, it’s the fact that there is a more efficient Tegra chip in it that gives it more life per charge. This also helps to run the system a bit cooler as well and while I’ve had no heat issues with my Switch having your systems run cooler is always a plus.

I saw that earlier today on the news. Didn’t know the studio or what they did though. Terrible thing. My thoughts and prayers go to all those involved. 😥

What the fuck man. I'm not familiar with it but Jesus. Not something I would expect to happen in Japan regardless of the business. Not a good way to go. They should do the same to the douchebag who did it.

Yeah, it made the news here.  Pretty awfull.  Losing 33 people is obviously a great tragedy to their families, but also for the studio as that's a huge pool of talent to have lost.  I hope the studio manages to recuperate and won't need to shut down.

I bought a new mircoSD card for the Switch.  I've had a 64Gig one since launch, but after 2 years it was nearly full.  I got a new 200Gig one which set me back a paltry €48.  Crazy how prices on these things have dropped over the years.  I'm in the process of transferring my data while I type this.

I recently picked up a 128GB one for the Switch as well. It was one of those official Nintendo branded ones. Paid $43 Canadian for it. Probably could have gotten one cheaper but meh, whatever. What amazes me is how tiny they are yet how much they can hold these days. Maybe I’m just getting old. Nyaa

Ugh.  Read and Write speed differences can go do one.  I copied my Switch data to my NAS at over 11MB/sec.  Copying them to my new card is 10 times as slow.  Hrm

edit: strange, after about a quarter way through the write speeds skyrocketed back up to about 10MB/sec.  Back in my day, if you wanted something copied, you visited a monk.  At least that was clear.  You wanted twice the read and write speed?  You hired 2 monks, simple.

They made so many great series. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto Animation Violet Evergarden on Netflix has superb animation and direction. They also did Free and Eternal summer.
Japanese police have named the man suspected of carrying out a deadly arson attack on an animation studio.

Shinji Aoba was taken into police custody in hospital and was being treated there for burns.

The fire swept through Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) on Thursday, claiming at least 33 lives and injuring many in one of Japan's worst mass killings in years.

People who witnessed Shinji Aoba's arrest said they heard him complaining that the company had stolen his ideas.

Police said the attacker entered the building and splashed flammable liquid from a bucket before setting it alight, and shouted: "Die!"

In the wake of the attack, dozens of people gathered outside the premises of the studio, laying flowers and offering prayers. A crowdfunding campaign has so far raised more than $1.3m (£1.04m) to assist victims and their families.

KyoAni produces films and graphic novels and is well regarded by fans for the quality of its productions.

What do we know about the suspect?
Police detained Shinji Aoba on suspicion of setting fire to the building. Mr Aoba allegedly accused the animation studio of plagiarising his novel. He was taken to hospital for treatment and had not been formally interviewed about his motive. Public broadcaster NHK reported that he had a criminal record and was previously jailed for stealing money from a convenience store. Kyoto Animation's president said he had recently received threatening letters but had no idea if they were connected to the attack.

What happened?
The fire broke out at the three-storey building at about 10:30 local time (01:35 GMT) on Thursday. Eyewitnesses described a loud explosion followed by the blaze, which people jumped out of windows to escape from.

"It was like I was looking at hell," a local woman told Asahi Shimbun newspaper.

Around 70 people were in the building when the fire started, and some 36 people have reportedly been taken to hospital.

Authorities said most of the victims were found piled up on a stairway leading from the building's third floor up to the roof, where they collapsed trying to escape.
Kyodo news agency said firefighters had found the door to the roof was shut, leaving people trapped inside. A Kyoto fire official also told Reuters news agency that the building did not have any sprinklers or indoor fire hydrants – but did not need them to comply with Japan's fire code.

Momoko Higuchi, a Tokyo-based architect, told Reuters that the blaze was probably made worse by the building's three-storey spiral staircase, which would have "[acted] as a chimney."

"Because the fire was with petrol, the effect was like a bomb," Mr Higuchi added.

The fire was put out and police were searching the site for evidence. Knives were reportedly found at the scene.

Details of the victims were not immediately released but Kyoto police said 20 women and 12 men were among the dead. One person has not yet been identified. KyoAni is known for employing more women, particularly younger women, than is usual in the profession, industry lawyer Daisuke Okeda told the New York Times.

Men aged over 35 still dominate the animation industry, Mr Okeda said, but twice as many women in their 20s work as animators compared with their male counterparts.

In response to the incident, the studio has cancelled screenings for the trailer of its latest film, a spin-off of the popular swimming anime series Free. It has also delayed a collaboration with Keihan Main Line, a railway service between Kyoto and Osaka.

Another Japanese animation studio, David Production, postponed the broadcast of its latest episode of Fire Force. The animated series centres on a group of firefighters who have the ability to manipulate fire.

Who is Kyoto Animation?
Kyoto Animation was founded in 1981 and has produced popular animation shows including K-On and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The studio also creates film versions of some of its popular franchises, and released the standalone feature A Silent Voice in 2016 to critical acclaim.
One of KyoAni's series, Violet Evergarden, was picked up by Netflix for a global market. It also publishes many popular graphic novels, mainly about teenage school life.

KyoAni: The beloved studio making distinctive art
The studio is known for paying its animators a regular salary, breaking with the industry's standard of paying per frame - which is seen as putting extreme pressure on staff. It is also the first successful studio outside Tokyo, Prof Ryusuke Hikawa from Meiji University told NHK.

I am messing around with Turok 3, never played this one.

Man, they really lost the plot here. Feels nothing like the first two games at all. Seems to be trying hard to copy Half Life & Perfect Dark. Looks good and controls OK for an N64 game but it's overall a big step down in quality. I wonder if this is when a lot of these guys left to go to Retro Studios? I'm thinking yes.

Possibly.  Going back to the N64 Turoks is very difficult, though I'll give it a try later on (as in 30 years from now when I've beathen all other games).  I quite enjoyed the 360-era reboot.  It was dumb fun with some nice knife action.  I think I played almost in one elongated sitting the same weekend I did the reboot of Area 51 in a similar manner.

Project64 and an Xbox controller is the only way I can play N64 games anymore. Makes a HUGE difference.
