The only game I played from Telltale was The Wolf Among Us, I really enjoyed it though. It’s a shame what happened. Kind of surprised myself because I just figured that they were doing ok.
Only Telltale game I played was Sam and Max. It was a pale shadow of the original.
Finished Octopath Traveler as all 8 characters. Awesome game overall. I have done two of the hidden dungeons with extra job skills. Still missing two.
Came across this wolf that just savages you with such powerful attacks.
Archie, what was this quest or dungeon you talked about before that involves everyone? I haven't seen anything like that hinted anywhere.
So what is your favorite game on the Switch so far?
My sig is a big giveaway.
Personally I am not surprised. There had been signs it wasn't all peachy and even without playing their games it was very apparent that they were making the same game over and over, just with a different IP.
They Guitar Hero'd themselves.
The final dungeon that involves all your characters can be pretty difficult to get to. You can’t find it by just wandering around, you need to do specific side quests to get to it. It and the final boss are mentioned a number of times throughout the game however it is kind of easy to forget about it during your game playthrough. I had to look up how to progress during the late portions of a key sidequest because I got stumped.
I wouldn't know. There's an un-Nintendo like number of quality of games on Switch, in no part helped by all the ports of indie classics it's getting. I really liked Snake pass, BotW and Arms. Splatoon2 is also great, even if it's just more Splatoon.
Seems like Nintendo has inadvertedly opened the gates to all kinds of crazy character crossovers after the reveal of a playable Peachette in NSMBU for Switch.
For those of us that aren't as well versed in the deepest layers of Mario lore: Peachette is what happens to Toadette when she picks up a power crown powerup. Basically, it's a palette swap of Peach, which allows players to use her signature float jump, despite the original Peach being held captive by Bowser (of course she is)
Here's Peachette:
And seamingly out of nowhere, the internet is now awash with Bowsette, which either is a form of Bowser magically transformed into Peach, or Peach that has transformed into a bowser version of herself. Clearly, given the Peachette precedent, the former is the only true explanation. Please keep that in mind while googling for images of Bowsette.
Apparently it has also taken less than 48 hours for it to already spawn cosplay:
Which must be a new world record.
SNK unsure how to approach a reboot for Metal Slug
Is it time for the Metal Slug series to get a reboot? It seems SNK themselves have been toying with the idea, but there's one element of the discussion that has left them puzzled. SNK’s Game Division Deputy General Manager Yasuyuki Oda was asked about a potential Metal Slug reboot by DualShockers, to which he had this to say.
“If we rebooted Metal Slug in some way, would they [gamers] be happy with the same “one hit you die” mechanic? Do gamers today think we should put it out that way?
Obviously there is a lot of stuff that people want us to reboot. We have people asking for Garou [Fatal Fury], people asking for Art of Fighting, people asking for Last Blade, people asking for Metal Slug… We would love to do all of them for obvious reasons. There are always discussions going on, but whenever we get down to it and we start talking about Metal Slug we start thinking, is it ok to put out a game like that nowadays?”
The answer is YES, you STOOPID f********s!

Dear Sega,
I know you're masters at not listening to what your fans want. Please let this be one of those moments.
Love,
Robio
Um, yeah. Not exactly the order that I would rank those games either.
I've started playing yoku's island express on Switch this weekend. It's a chirpy platformer/metroidvania where jumping is replaced by pinball flippers and bumpers, set in a handdrawn tropical island. You're a dung beatle rolling a marble around and delivering mail. The game is clearly a work of love, with nice little details that bring the world alive, or that aid the gameplay, like how the part of the flipper you're on lights up, giving you visual clues to remember when you need to hit those flippers in order to reach where you need to go. The game doesn't seem very long, as your map shows you the whole island in detail, with parts you haven't been to covered by clouds. Overall the rather compact map isn't a bad thing, as there's a fair amount of travelling back and forth. You'll unlock shortcuts and a novel fast travel system, but you'll still be rolling around a fair amount as well.
I'm enjoying it a lot and it's very moreish as well. There's also currently a 40% off discount on the Switch eShop, so now's the time to dive in if you've been considering getting it.
I tried the demo, didn't like it much. Felt very loose, pinball esque. A bit frustrating.
Good. By now there are so many stages in rotation that I think I haven't even seen all of them myself yet.
I liked the changes made to the Splatfest with the latest update though.
Well, well, well. I’ve been saying that Sony was just delaying the inevitable by refusing crossplay with Microsoft and Nintendo. It looks like the inevitable came sooner then I was expecting.
Castlevania Requiem announced
Well, I may have played both of these games before (and wasn't really a huge fan of Rondo of Blood), but I'll be picking it up. Can't have too much Symphony of the Night.
