And yes, I do see the irony in replying to you in order to ignore you.
It is pretty crap so far. It was a such a strange feeling booting up Splatoon 2 and finding half the game now hidden behind a paywall. I then booted up other games and the same thing, Nintendo Online now required. You know, fair enough, everyone charges I guess. But the only games I want to play online are Splatoon and Animal Crossing. MK8 maybe.
And since I have no Android or iPhone I can't even use the app or have voice chat. The NES games front page looks awesome though, dat boxart. Unfortunately NES games play and look like roasted feces, aside from Super Mario Bros 3.
So yeah. I paid the Splatoon tax.
Does it matter? You can change the gender, hair and all that crap easily enough. And you have all the weapons at hand. I wouldn't really care if my nephews changed my outfits.
Being playing more of the Capcom beat em up bundle. What's clear is when some games have cheap moments just to kill you so you will feed in more quarters to continue. Those moments, in any arcade game suck. What's great is when you have a game that is mostly bullshit free and it's fair like Final Fight or Knights of the Round.
Final Fight is still soooo fricking great. For a two button game there is a lot of depth here, using weapons, throwing them. Choosing what grabs to use, or to headbutt. It's crowd control RE4 style before that existed. Graphics are awesome.
Some of the other games could have benefitted from tweaking. With a few small changes they could add a lot of depth to some of these games like having a block button, maybe combos that kind of thing.
Yes it matters. I doubt your nephews would enjoy coming up against Splatoon professionals and having their asses handed to them over and over. Same with my son. I see his games and he enjoys himself, but he'd be reduced to crying in a corner of the couch if he played against the people I get matched up to.
Oh my nephews insist on being creamed online. Seriously, they always ask to play MK8 and SPlatoon online even though they are pretty crap.
What about stats? My wife, my son and I each have an account. We want to be in charge of our own multiplayer character and stats.
Family membership I guess.
We should do that next year, 8 people can sign up for it no matter where in the world you are.
Gg, will you be my cousin?
Of course they dish out the paid service right before Smash Bros hits. Dirty rotten scoundrels.
I can’t believe it. My son is in love with Tecmo Bowl. He says it’s the best football game.
I know tons of people who prefer playing the old school sports games over the ultra realistic stuff of the past few generations. I can agree to a certain extent. The old arcadey games had a much more fun based pick up and play feel that modern games can't have no matter how hard they try.
The SNES cricket games are still by far the best. And arguably the only good ones.
That’s exactly what it is. He says if you are behind, it’s easy to come back and win. It’s just plain fun to him. He even mentioned how surprised he was that this old game could be so fun. It’s the best example of “pick up and play” in a sports game.
Wow Telltale Games closed up shop. That really sucks, they had a nice little niche all to themselves.

That is pretty crazy. I guess that little niche wasn't big enough to keep the studio going, at the pace they were trying to run at.
That's a pity.
But they certainly were milking things a bit.
I think that was their other big issue, they weren't diversifying at all. They were just taking on more licenses to do the exact same kind of game, and it's not unfair to say they probably lost their novelty a few years back.
