What's funny to me is that they're so afraid of a good looking woman showing off her body that by just telling them to keep covered up it's basically like inadvertently telling everyone else that you should be ashamed of yourself. The polar opposite of the intended effect. Just like almost everything else these days.

I got my Qculus Go today. It's charging now. I messed around with it for about 30 mintues. Cool tech. I watched some free VR videos in the Store. I'm not particularly happy with the picture quality, though. The image is slightly blurry overall, moreso for the peripheral vision, and quite shimmery too. It's magnifying a 1440p screen, so that's not unexpected. I'm hoping it'll improve once I'm more used to it. I wear glasses, and the Oculus is still very comfortable with them on (it comes with a spacer for glasses). I'll be playing around with it more tomorrow once it's fully charged.

I'll look for it, and try it out tomorrow.

The Miss America shows will no longer require participants to show themselves in bikini.  What has the world come to, when people are no longer allowed to voluntarily show themselves in bikini during a beauty contest?  It's not like anyone is want for options to see titilating nudity these days.  Metoo was mentionned as a reason why this was being cut, but that is so besides the point as to be laughable.  These women aren't asked for sexual favors in exchange for a promotion, they've voluntarily entered a contest in which they are fully aware of, and consent to, that they will be required to show themselves in bikini on TV.

I can happily confirm that the Miss Belgium organization already confirmed that bikini's aren't getting the boot.

I think the bikini's should stay.

i also think that there should be televised Mr. America tournaments where they are required to wear Speedos. No that I'd watch either, but at least women could then be cool with Miss America.  Good for goose, good for gander.

Yeah pretty much. The entire pageant was founded on the concept of finding the most beautiful woman and up until about 40 years ago no one pretended any differently. Then the women's Liberation movement forced the organisers hand, and they had to pretend that the talent portion was important as well as the part where they talk to the host and babble about world peace or feeding the hungry. Crap that no one ever really cared about. And slowly but surely they've been trying to make that more important in minimize the bathing suit and evening gown portions.


Anyway, the whole thing is a dinosaur that's just waiting to die. I don't know of anyone under the age of 60 that even watches it.

So the only audience is horny old people and prudes who may be younger. Makes sense to shift their focus to the audience that isn't about to die.

I decided to try and google if Mister Belgium is being aired on TV, but all I could find was about Mr. Gay Belgium.

To be fair, I think Miss Belgium stopped being aired a couple of years ago as well.

We've already heard some comments from Pokemon Co. president Tsunekazu Ishihara on Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and Pokemon 2019, but now we have a few more statements from his interview with Famitsu magazine. You can check out the details below.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee

– The reason we can release a game on Switch is that we have been working on it since the console launched. We feel strongly that our games have the capability to give traction to a platform.


– “The process and tempo of catching Pokemon in Pokemon: Let’s Go is very different. Amongst other things, you can throw a Poke Ball by swinging the Joy-Con.”


– “In two-player mode, another character will appear and can help you catch Pokemon.”


– “We consider the game as a remake of Pokemon Yellow, but we intend to not only update the play style and appearance, but also add an element of Pokemon you can see for the first time.”

Pokemon 2019

– “The release in the second half of 2019 is a completely different game. This will not be an entry point into the series, but rather something that we want people who have been enjoying Pokemon games for a long time to look forward to.”


– “The game will be released for the Switch, but we have kept in mind the ‘hands on’ approach that we’ve had so far. We have also polished the graphics.”
