I'm hoping that this is just some part of a larger agreement, in which Ubisoft brings over a portion of it's games early on in exchange for a free ticket to the bank in the form of a Mario spin-off. I agree with GG, nobody asked for this game, and I don't feel that the 2 IP's blend very well. I wouldn't go so far as to call it shovelware, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of Mario's lesser appearances.
As far as IO Interactive and Square go?
"The news follows Square Enix's surprise decision to cut ties with the studio and look for a potential buyer. Despite the critical acclaim last year's episodic Hitman received globally, sales are believed to have not met the Japanese publisher's expectations. "
This doesn't surprise me in the least and I wouldn't be shocked if Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics are next. Sqaure has been complaining about the sales of EVERY WESTERN DEVELOPED GAME they have published since buying Eidos...literally every one of them, no matter how well they do. Meanwhile, they never have a bad word to say about anything that is Japanese made....seems to me to be a really shitty situation for the Eidos side of things. They're scapegoats, basically.
I just hope Square doesn't hold onto the IP rights for any of the franchises once they sell the studios. If Microsoft was smart, they would buy them all seeing as they desperately need exclusives.
Get your ass to Mars!
Well actual games would be nice in general for the switch. So any game is technically something people wanted. But don't worry in July they will "convince" gamers.
What's happening in July?
Enthusiastic dog gatecrashes Russian news bulletin
Anyone who owns a dog knows that they can often cause a fuss at the most inappropriate times, but the furry friend featured in this video definitely takes the (dog) biscuit for awkward (and incredible) antics.
Over on a Russian news programme, the newsreader is going about her business when the animal comes bounding into the studio, wagging its tail excitedly – and the stunned look her face when the dog lets out its first bark is absolutely priceless.
She does her best to carry on with the bulletins and the dog continues to hound her, even jumping up stand with its front paws on the desk.
Now, our non-existent knowledge of Russian is more than a little rusty – but the automatic translation tool provided by YouTube suggests that at the point the dog jumps up, the newsreader says something along the lines of "this is why I like cats".
In the grand scheme of news-broadcast interruptions, we're not sure it quite tops that now legendary "one time an expert's kids came barging into his study during an interview" – but it's definitely up there.
This particular incarnation of the canine news invasion has already racked up 5.4 millions views and is rising steadily – and the whole thing definitely brings to mind the old adage of not working with children or animals....even if it is an unplanned collaboration.

Lol the unreasonable Nintendo system game sales test is back. Capcom CEO said they will determine switch support depending on sales of SF2. A $40 port of a 25 year old game. Lol
The fuck is this? The games graphics etc are from their own nine-year-old game Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, the one with the jerky animations and ugly graphics drawn by Udon Entertainment. Which was about $12 on launch.
They have done barely anything to enhance it.
Love how the news lady leans as far as possible away from it. I would make the pic my new sig if it wasn't too tall and poor quality.
Switch owners will never see RE7 or anything else by Capcom unless it's Megaman.
Monster Hunter and Ace Attorney I guess.
That said, I think the Street Fighter II name holds up value still that it could see passable sales. Nothing huge, but it'll break 100K. I can't believe Capcom could reasonably expect more than that.
This is what happens when you make underpowered systems though. Just like with the original Wii...even if it sells more than the other machines it's too far behind the other 3 major platforms (which combined together far outsell anything Nintendo can do on their own) technology wise to hope for more than a few multi-platform titles here or there. The Switch may be impressive for what it is, but in terms of capabilities it's still basically 2006 era tech, just like the Wii U was. People were tired of working with that era of tech by 2012 and with all the recent PC advancements and the Scorpio coming out, the gap is going to widen.
It's why I don't expect much greatness out of anyone but Nintendo on Switch...just like usual.
Russian pussy turns me into a dog too
I just want to hear something about the rumored new Knights game at E3, and the remake/HD enhanced version of the original game.
