So who'll be watching the Switch extravaganza live? I'm going to put my alarm, although my body may not be ready at 5am and might keep me from getting up.

A question to our US members: if some newsoutlet speaks of an american worker earning $50k a year, how much of that would be net income, and how much would go to tax?
You'd get about half which is what most of the people in the country make, give or take a bit. Which means if you don't have another person to share expenses with, it's going to be incredibly hard to get by. Especially when you consider the fact that not only did half your earnings disappear, but you also get taxed out the asshole on anything you buy with the money you DID aquire. Which really makes it more like about 20 to 25% of your earnings is what you'll be getting.
