So this past week has been crazy at work. I accepted a position at a closer office, 30 minutes closer as I would normal drive an hour to get to work. I get to do more ultrasounds and "might" get a raise. So having accepted this position I expected there to be a plan in place for my old office to have a replacement, nope. All of a sudden I am starting next week this new job, and there is supposedly some lady who will step in. I ask so when will she be shadowing me, they said thursday which is a half day for me there. So I ask what is she doing now, "oh she is unavailable and she was training with one of the other techs at a different office" an office that doesnt have the same machine and where the doctors are not as hands on. So the doctors dont have a damn clue what is going on, they are shocked I am leaving so soon, I am having to tell them that I dont know what is happening with the replacement. I really like the office I have been working at, love the people there, the doctors helped me learn a ton, all great people so I feel bad that they are now in such a shitty spot.
The doctors call management (these are all offices connected by a corporate group and this office is always getting screwed, they are like the red headed step child) obviously pissed at why they have no one training. The solution was to give me wednesday and half a day on thurdsay with her. So she shows up, her name is Susan and she is an older lady 50s-60s has never done the test before. I asked where has she been the last few days and they had her at some hospital that had nothing to do with this work. One of my managers, not the one that gave me the new position, she tells me and susan "tell the doctors she has experience from way back." So now they want us to lie. Well fuck that, I straight up tell the doctors what is going on. In the mean time I do my best to get this woman ready. I have patients so I dont have time to do this step by step, she is just seeing it live and the patients are semi complicated so she is getting some advanced stuff, I have to show her. So I am feeding her way too much info, I know this, I can tell she is overwhelmed. She is very upset cause she knows she wont be ready. Also this office was an hour and a half away from where she lives, she said when she was hired she would be doing EEGs which is her specialties at a site close to her house but that fell through so they are just sticking her anywhere, and since now there is an opening where I am they just stick her there.
That definitely sucks. There shitty management/administration everywhere. I'm frankly tired of wishy washy management who refuse to make proper decisions.
