Oh yeah I'll still be getting a console at launch. I usually get at least one console at launch. Two years is too long to wait to hop on board on a new generation, a lot of good gaming can be had during that time.
As for that bit of news about various Microsoft products underperforming it disappoints me because I think that the Xbox One is a very good system with some really good games on it but it's still taking a beating from the initial reveal. Halo 5 is an excellent game that is likely suffering from the Xbox One sales and the Master Chief Collection launch problems. Hopefully Scorpio can turn things around for them.

I don't think the sales are bad per se, just bad compared to MS's own projections. 360 was a bigger success so it looks bad in comparison I guess.
I think when MS stopped reporting hardware numbers you could see that they weren't keen on having them compared to PS4.
I doubt that they'd ever release console upgrades in less then two years. If they did though then I'd probably still get a console at launch but I might not necessarily get the upgraded one right away. I'd probably just skip one upgrade period and get the next upgraded system after that.
Yeah they aren't in dire straits or anything, just not doing as well as they were expecting.
So you'd buy two of the same consoles, one at launch then the year 2 upgrade.

It doesn't matter for them though, because every year they get tons of great games on their systems regardless of the delays. In Nintendo's case, they delay Zelda for 4 years and they have nothing else even close to it to fall back on. That's one of the great things about having a console with games from virtually everyone....you can afford to delay games to make sure they're what you want them to be while there's still tons of stuff to play.
