The only thing they greatly change from game to game is the art style. The basic gameplay has been the same more or less since the N64 days. So if they made a new one based on this model every say two years, it would get boring as hell.
I'd also rather have that 2nd team you're talking about work on a completely different franchise. Nintendo needs to break out of the Mario and Zelda reliance. I know they have other stuff obviously, but you know what I mean.
I played through the first mission of a game just now, that I've always wanted to check out since 2003 but never have.
PN03 on the Gamecube.
First off let me say now, this game deserved a sequel just based on how hot the chick is. I mean, hottest Capcom chick ever....she's like a slutty Jill Valentine in a hot future suit. The actual is isn't that bad. It feels like a futuristic Devil May Cry, but not as well thought out. There was potential here. The one thing that I don't like so far is the controls...very strange. If they had designed the controls in a more standard way the game would be much better. But I did enjoy the beginning. Hopefully there's some variety to the levels...we'll see.
Also, nice that the game actually runs in widescreen. Hell most Wii games didn't do that. Nevermind Cube. Will play more.
Gross, Zelda talk.
Loved that game back in the day. I'll often consider playing it again, but that hasn't happened by lack of time. Yes, I have not found the time to play a short game a second time in over 15 years...
The levels are hugely repetitive though, to the point where chambers are reused multiple times throughout the game. The combat is super stylish. There's nothing like dodging the impact of a heat-seeking missile by just sidestepping a split-second before it strikes, or being near missed by a matter of inches by lasers as they zap past you on either side. Boss battles were good fun as well.
Well, yesterday's Steam Link multiplayer test was succesful. I think that in about 4 hours play, I noticed some artifacting only once. What was more obvious however, was the utter lack of small local multiplayer games on Steam that don't involve jumping around in a 2D plane. My friend, being the hermit that he is, isn't too fond of one less dimension and precision platforming. In the end we ended up getting black and white bushido. It's a fast 2D brawler in the vain of smash bros, if smash bros gave you only one standard attack with one hit kills. The gimmick is that the background is monochromatic, as are the players and AI characters, meaning that you'll need to be keeping a good eye on where everyone is at all times.
It was pretty good fun. Matches are fast and it's easy to succumb to just having one more go. Not sure if it's something we'll be returning to often though.
Saying a game that only changes its art style and not its gameplay would get boring by releasing them more often, contradicts itself? If you say so....
Where did I say the art style had to stay the same? I didn't say anything of the sort. Your reply is ridiculous!
The reason I recommended Lara Croft Guardian of Light is because not only is it cheap now, but it basically plays like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. Really good co-op game.
Yeah, we watched the trailer. I thougt it'd be straight up his alley, but he didn't seem to care and it's not something I'd end up playing on my own.
We also played the free DLC of Affordable Space Adventures. These extra levels were advertised to be extra hard, and I can attest to this being true. The 2 of us are both rather good with spatial puzzles and stuff, but we couldn't make any progress in the DLC levels. Good thing failing is a lot of fun in that game as well.
The fuck just happened in Agents of Shield? Ditching those two for a pilot. Bollocks.
Eurogamer has an article about 'useless machines'. This term apparently describes machines that when turned on, will elaborately turn themselves back off. There's a hypnotic quality to them:
Fixed.
**Oh c'mon now! You know that's what you were expecting to see!**

Sometimes, the mutant cat-demon characters get thrown AT the screen! GOAT!!!
Yeah, my first reaction was that it'd be an article about certain consoles as well.
But that gif trumps everything. I could watch it for hours on end.
So has anyone here looked into Steam Family Sharing? For those of you who haven't heard of it, it isn't some kind of swinger's dream come true, it enables you to play games owned by someone else close to you. Only real thing that holds it back from being ginormeously abused is the fact that you have to have logged in locally at least once for it to work, and you can only have 4 (or 5?) people share your account.
Having read into it a bit, I'm definitely going to try this out when I'm at a friend's next.
