He must have incredibly oily skin, though. Unless it's just sweat dampening the cardboard...
Either way. ;X
I'm not buying it. No piece of hardware ever looks so much like the patent design docuent. Also, if you're leaking something as top secret as Nintendo's next controller, why bother putting black bars on part of it? I also don't think Nintendo, who take such pride in their controller design, would eschew buttons, thus handing over such a delicate matter to developers who might screw up big time.
It's a fake.
Even Nintendo couldn't possibly make something that fucking stupid.
But Nintendo's been screwing up their controller designs for awhile now so maybe they would hand the matter over to developers.
Get back under your bridge, troll
Lol
Really though, I don't like the idea of not having real buttons....just touch screen buttons. IDK....seems like another thing that wouldn't work well for all games. I just want a normal controller Nintendo, but you're not going to give me one, are you?
You know, like this:
Red Dead HD remaster? Yes please.
Same here.
The first episode makes more sense once you've watched the whole series, then you go back to the first and realise why it makes sense. Both series are similar up until the island and the Wrath kid.
It's sad that we're old enough to remember this movie and consider Alicia Silverstone as hot.
I don't see how it's that different from the Wii U controller, it's a big touchscreen controller. Sure it's a weird shape, but that's because they can have freeform cut glass now the tech exists. If it maximises screen size that will be a good thing IMO. As for buttons see my response below:
I think the patent pointed to haptic buttons that you could actually feel like real buttons. Touchscreen buttons wouldn't work at all.
If this is some all in one device it makes no sense to me regarding game discs. Back to carts?
Crazy asshole, stick to the English dub, it's the best dub I've ever heard. You need to hear the Fuhrer in English at the end.
I have it, it's near indistinguishable from the original, save for the shoulder buttons. Which are also it's weakest point.
I would be very suprised if the NX controller didn't feature any face buttons. I don't believe GG's doom-mongering about haptic feedback buttons either. Nintendo's always been about creating something special from low-tech technology. There is nothing low-tech about having haptic touch-screen buttons.
edit: also, the analogue sticks look off as well. I want no nipples on my controllers. I'm all for nipples, but there's a time and a place for such things, and game time is not that time.
It's the withered technology approach. Are haptic feedback buttons that expensive and futuristic to implement? Of course this pic could be of an early mock up. Remember that the Wii had no analog nunchuk until Retro studios feedback told them they needed it.
EDIT - From GAF:
Actual source: https://www.reddit.com/user/Idriss2Dev
And according to him:
That is the stupidest looking controller in the history of gaming.
Remember this?
Or these?

That was a prototype
I also managed to snag a pic of Edgecrushers ultimate console:
It still remains a useless feature, unless Nintendo is willing to let developers come up with their own user interface. Touch screen controllers with no face buttons come up every time Nintendo is about to launch new hardware, but it isn't going to happen.
If that pic were in a story saying that was a new handheld would anyone bat an eye?
It's a terrible shape, why is the screen a small oval, where is the rest of the screen
If it looked a tad sleeker and was called the PS Valhala, no. If it would be the successor to the 3DS, yes.
It will be called the 'screenchuck' and will be sold seperately. It may or may not be a VR headset. That's why the part shown here has all that haptic feedback, you won't be able to see the bottom screen while eyeballs deep into the VR experience.
In real terms you could have more screen space then ever before. Depends on the final config.
For everyone who thinks this design is stupid, check out the video of Sharps Free Form displays which is the tech Nintendo is allegedly using for their next handheld or NX:

LOL
Look at the GAF reaction to the Wii controller: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63251&page=1
The tech is pretty sweet. So you're saying that, in the face of limitless potential, Nintenendo, one of the greatest innovators in controller design, came up with an oval? I find that hard to stomach.
