Oh yes, Stardew Valley. I've been following it for a while. Last week when I asked opinions on the 360 controller verses the Xbone controller this was the reason because those are the only natively supported controllers right now. I was going to jump on it they won but I have a pretty nasty backlog right now. Plus I have heard there are a lot of balancing issues that are being tweaked right now. So I will probably wait a month and then grab it.

With how MS is pushing Xbox to be more of a platform agnostic service, I can't help but feel that the term 'Xbox' is very unlucky. Sure, it's fine for something in the videogame industry, but it sounds much too agressive for the masses. Stuff like Skype, dropbox, whatsapp, ... those are names that are flavourless enough for everyone to use. Xbox? Blech.
Nah, xbox is a good brand, it's had good success. for people never had heard the term it means "mystery box" and the long running "subliminal" interpretation has been that it's indistinguishable from the words sexbox, which for the gender they are after is a big plus.
But-but-but... It won't be a box anymore
I'm sure something like 'sexapp' would be just as subliminally appealing. It's always been a dumb name, even more so now it isn't limited to a physical console anymore.

Like most console names it was dumb, but after 15 years it has become one of the only Microsoft brands that people "love" as opposed to "use".
It was so popular that when MS tried to use it for their music service on Windows it had to be changed because so many consumers though they had to have an Xbox to subscirbe.
Well XBOX was originally designed 100% to attract the hardcore gamer crowd. Specifically, the Dreamcast & PC crowd. With all the stuff they've tried doing since then, I don't think they really thought about the name in terms of a broader audience than that. It was meant to sound edgy & cool to young gamers. I always liked the name just because it has a bit of a heavy metal vibe to it. Definitely not a name meant for soccer moms.
My point exactly. It doesn't matter that it is well loved, that is irrelevant to the question wether or not it's a good name for a service aimed at a broad demographic.
I'm not buying anything else on Wii U until I see what they're doing with NX. If its badass and they're coming out with stuff like Twilight Princess specifically for it, I'd rather wait. If it turns out they're not but are making it BC, then I'll grab stuff like TP HD. I'm really not in a rush to pay $60 for that right now anyway.
Rumor is that Nintendo is in panic mode over star fox 0 and they may delay it tomorrow. What a disaster that game could be.
They'll likely show off Pokken Tournament for the Wii U perhaps.
