Happy New Years, guys and gals!
It is 9 AM on New Years Eve.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Dying Light is pretty cool, nice mix of parkour and survival horror. No one has really talked about this game here but I'll certainly recommend it if anyone was on the fence about it. I love the ability to climb anything. The prologue is long but hang in there, it's fun.
For me bi-weekly is a new pace. I started listening when you guys were down to a snail's pace.
Happy New Years even though we still have 12 hours to go. You people in the future let us know how 2016 is
Happy New Year everybody!
I haven't played it.......yet.
I need to pick up an external HDD for a Wii U. Any HDD will do?
Not sure about HDD's, but I'm pretty sure any USB stick will work just fine. Also, WiiU USB ports are USB2, so don't waste cash on a faster USB3 drive.
7 hours till London New Year! Happy 2016 to all!
Oh it takes usb sticks? Neat. What's the cap?
I have a 64 gig one and it works fine. Unless you'll be buying full retail games digitally that should be more than you could ever need. Don't know if there's a cap.
Nice, you saved me many pesos.
I accept tokens of gratitude in pesos, US dollars, euro and pounds sterling.
What about rupees? Gil? Gald?
Damn
The maximum size allowed by the Wii U for an external HDD is 2TB. I'd recommend a 1TB Western Digital My Book HDD. It has a dedicated power source so you don't have to by a y-cable for the usb attachment and it should give you all the space you'll likely ever need.
I've got a Seagate External 500 GB portable HD. It set me back $50 about 6 months ago. The Y-Cable connector that I needed cost $4. $54 is a pretty decent price for all of that. You can even get the 1 TB version of that harddrive for for about $5 more. Definitely worth picking up.
Steel not all HDD's are compatible. I originally tried the one I use on Xbox One and it didn't work on Wii U. And I tried using a USB stick for Xenoblade, but I noticed the game wasn't running as well as it seemed it should. So I picked this drive up right here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W8XXRPM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
It works beautifully, all the storage space you'll ever need. But it DOES run off the Wii U's power so like Archie said, you'll need a Y cable (I got one for like $3) to run it. So both front USB ports on my U are taken up by the HDD. Then on the back I have my Tekbotic Gamepad cable which I also strongly recommend as it turns it into a wired controller. And last but not least, my ethernet cable. I'm glad Nintendo didn't cheese out when it came to USB ports on the system.
