Got rid of my Wii U a long time ago, but couldn't resist the lure of Super Mario Maker. Best thing of all, I didn't have to buy a system again. Chris purchased one a few months ago to start a Virtual Console collection of his own and then promptly lost interest in the idea.

SUPER MARIO MAKER & FREE WII U GET!![Grinning](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Past experiences with Level Creator games have been pretty negative. LBP series **meh!** never did it for me. Wario Ware DIY was purchased, never played and traded in. I tried tinkering with Blast Works to no avail. Even games like Minecraft; I play more practically than creatively.
I found it hard to believe Mario Maker was as user friendly as everyone claimed. It really, truly is! I installed the patch, but it seems to work in this way: If you place enough blocks, your shipment of new Items could arrive earlier than the next day. Apparently, I have not because they are arriving daily, as was originally intended by Nintendo. That is absolutely FINE with me! I am enjoying getting used to the items I have, tinkering with placement and combining items and enemies, etc. I'm making good use of what I have before more is piled on top. It allows even creatively challenged individuals like myself to ease into the creative process. It's brilliant!
I've had mixed experiences with other User created levels so far. Some are just plain dumb. They just throw hundreds of coins and dozens of lives at you as you simply walk from left to right, practically begging for a free 'Star' from whomever gets their course. Others are so busy and so cluttered you can't even see where you are going. I'd say one in ten were actually clever or required skill or thought. I, myself, am going for the more traditional Mario Level feel and so far I am happy with what I've produced! I'll be keeping the codes for my own levels in my signature here from now on! Guess this pretty much answers my WAYPTW question for today!

**Now, I'd like to say this decision was based on interest in the game alone, but that would be a lie. Truth is, the problem with my spine hasn't improved at all. As a matter of fact, it's gotten worse. Every day I excercise and try to strengthen my back and muscle groups to take the burden off of it, but it doesn't seem to be working. All I've gotten for all my work is horrible quadricep pain nightly as my spine adjusts. It's actually worse than the back pain that I originally had that made me realize I had a problem. This has made me pretty badly depressed and VERY nostalgic for simpler times. There's almost nothing that brings me back to happier times than the original Super Mario Bros. Playing Maker distracts me and is a constant reminder of a time before I knew what REAL pain was! It's funny, but the game plays tricks with my head: I know every crack, crevice, corner, block, bad guy, warp pipe and hidden seceret of the original game. As I play Maker, I expect to know what's around every corner... but I don't! It's like I've found my way back to the 80's and found areas hidden in the original that no one else has before! This game is some of Nintendo's BEST work in years! If it can make me forget right now, that says A LOT! THAT'S why I simply HAD to have this game!**

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Maybe now he has the top job he can afford a tie:
Let's give the guy who was in charge of the Gamecube's massive success in the States the job of turning around the Wii U.
Yee-haw!
Okay, I was looking for a gif of a man on a bucking bronco and this came up. It's way better, but in no way adds to my editorial comment
^She's a better horse than the horse. Poor horse.
Just for Edge:
All this revelas is marketshare of consoles:
It worked once so let's just keep doing it.
Add to that the whole Japan is so so different from the bulk of the gaming/ entertainment market (for better and worse).
Sony suffered GREATLY by putting a Westerner in charge though (Sir Howard Stringer), so that's no the answer either. Combined with the rest of Sony being so uhng up on proprietary everything, his cluelessness as a westerner just caused the JP Sony to splinter at an excellerated pace.
But really, what gaming company is lead by a great leader?
Steam: Concept over leadership, Gabe relinquishes control as an ethos and the company suffers from lack of commitment.
Activision: Argument could be made Kottick is the smartest guy in the room.
Microsoft: Headless Horseman Phil Spencer measn well, but no single executive at MS amounts to fuck all in the sea of administration they have.
EA: Some anonymous Aussie dude in charge, they are adrift.
UBI: I actually think someone is in charge over there. I hate all their content, but still, they seem to lack the heart and soul to actually pillage this industry to the fullest extent.
It has worked wonders for them so far:
Gameboy
DS
3DS
Wii
But yeah, it's not as effective a mantra for home consoles as it is for handhelds.
He doesn't look very cuddly like Iwata did![Sad](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-frown.gif)
Been too exhaused to play anything this weekend.
I need a solid nights sleep. Watched lots of 30 Rock instead. Tracy and the EGOTs LOL.
Nintendo's President Announced Genyo Takeda
----------------------------
Huh what? I just clicked through and Takeda isn't the new President at all.
Tatsumi Kimishima named Nintendo president
Nintendo has announced a new representative director and president following the passing of Saturu Iwata on July 11.
Tatsumi Kimishima, who joined The Pokemon Company in 2000 before moving to Nintendo of America in 2002, and became director and chairman of Nintendo of America in 2006, will act as Nintendo’s new representative director and president.
Nintendo also announced a number director role changes. Genyo Takeda will now act as the company’s “Technology Fellow” in addition to general manager for the Integrated Research and Development Division. And Shigeru Miyamato is now the company’s “Creative Fellow” in addition to general manager of the Entertainment Analysis & Development Division. Find the full list of role changes here.

So the director and chairman of Nintendo of America has been made the new director of Nintendo as a whole, surely that's a good thing as he will be more in touch with westerners wants and western dev needs.
Found this in the EG comments section on Nintendo's new president:
edit: another one

Looks like he was a banker.
Yeah, forgot to mention I played Metal Gear Solid V all weekend. I'm might be halfway through with it at about thirty hours.
Disney creates 'Squid Wars', a Splatoon rip-off for Disney Infinity 3.0
----------------------------------------------------------------
Guys look at the videos..... they recreated Arowana Mall. I have a hard time believing this is officialy Disney shit and not fan made.
If that's anything other than user created content, Disney is going a bit too far with this. The stage even looks like Arowana Mall.
I checked the comments, it's official content made by Disney devs. So weird.
Gameplay wise it looks like total crap too. But calling it squid wars, turf wars and then re-creating an in game map from Splatoon?
