They really should. If I was one of their suits, that's one of the first things I would do. Buy Turok and have Retro work on it.
Awesome as usual. Sadly though Capcom didnt really listen to fans. The project was already green lighted before they did the whole pitch and asking of fans to prove they want it.
Just watched the Mario Maker overview trailer.
I don't get it. Why would I want to make 2D mario levels that will end up being inferior to those I've played in my youth? Why would I want to play a near endless amount of crap levels created by the minecraft generation who think that everything they come up with is gold? I'm sure the best levels will be very inventive, but I'm also pretty sure they'll stray rather far from what a Mario game is. This won't be a Mario Maker, it'll be a sandbox for people to experiment with, covered in a Mario veneer.
I'm pretty sure I won't like this and that I am not the core demographic for this.
Same for me. But apparently frm those that have played it is amazingly fun.
The best creation game for me was Wario DIY, which was limited and unintuitive, apparently Mario Maker is a fun experience in and of itself and not as much as the final product.
I also used to enjoy making Doom 2 .wads.
Can't wait.
Meoooow!
I guess because the studio which handles FFrame is still in business? And Turoks' quality has waned over the years. Also the deal which Nintendo has for FFrame isn't really detailed, does it expire?
Oh man, those Dragon Quest pics look heavenly.
Doesn't matter. Many people don't even realize that the last Turok came out. And Nintendo has tarnished Metroid's reputation too, that hasn't stopped them from relea........oh wait.
Regardless, you can't tell me if they bought Turok and someone like Retro showed off some incredibly badass gameplay on Wii U or NX with Far Cry like environments and a nice multi-player suite that was beyond anything Nintendo has done that people wouldn't love it.
Shut it and buy Splatoon.
I've been playing Valkyria Chronicles on PC for a week now, which is definitely the way to play it btw if you haven't done so. You get to use a better controller, it has trophies, better resolution, better load times, etc.
It was one of the first games I ever got on PS3 and I remember thinking damn, SEGA is back this game is awesome...but of course SEGA wasn't back and VC was some kind of weird fluke they accidentally made a great game. Anyway, never beat it on PS3....got stuck somewhere and never went back so now I am actually going to beat it.
It gets me thinking too, with what SEGA has been saying lately about winning back fans support, Capcom seemingly a better company than they were two years ago, SquareEnix has improved TENFOLD since getting new leadership....it makes me happy to see all my favorite Japanese companies at least TRYING to become more like they used to be....it feels like Japan has maybe turned a corner for the better in terms of game development. Excfept, of course, for KONAMI.....those fucking guys, nevermind going downhill, those guys have taken a suicidal nosedive right off the face of gaming. I don't think its a stretch to say they're probably the WORST games company in the world right now? Who would want to be there with the goons running that ship?
But yeah, other than those assholes, game creation in Japan has me happy. And then we also have over in Europe, Rare seeming to be getting back to real games creation...and Playtonic Games taking over where Nintendo era Rare left off.
This is all good news as far as I'm concerned. Go blow a goat if you disagree.
Just read that RE2 N64 story....interesting read.
Best part for me is that they had called in guys from Factor 5 to help them completely redo the sound system, and ended up actually IMPROVING the sound over the Playstation game. Factor 5 were really amazing in terms of production and getting the most out of hardware.

Of couse it matters. The people that do realise the last Turok came out are the same people that are aware Turok ever existed, or dudebros (the market Turok should now be targeting) who were sucked into buying it and feel like they were ripped off. Good example btw, look how well the new Metroid has been received.
We'd think it was amazing. Most people would not give a shit. The one thing it'd have going for it today is the new Jurassic Park, but other than that all it could build on is nostalgia from the likes of us, which isn't enough for a triple A title.
The new Metroid hasn't been received well because it looks like literal ass. Flabby, unwashed ass.
What an unconvincing porch structure. There's no way that thing would be strong enough to support the billboard that's on top*! A horrible case of uncanny valley, that it is.
