Seems like Nintendo is throwing everything and the kitchen sink at their Amiibo range.  Just look at the airtime Amiibo's got in the latest Direct.  It's a cool concept, but do we really need multiple statues of the same characters?  It's not like the Mario statues feature a different mario (like Tanuki Mario or something), he's just in a different pose.  Ok, they made a bucketload of money off the Smash Amiibo's, but I think that flooding the market with different amiibo won't be benificiary as it'll decrease the value for collectors, who probably made up the bulk of the Amiibo sales so far.

I don't think they are flooding the market as availibility of the rarer ones is low. So for collectors it makes sense to snap up ones which are sure to perform worse like the Splatoon and Yarn Yoshi.

Well at least I was able to upgrade Mario 64 from Wii to Wii U VC. More games please. I have Yoshi's Island DS on my 3DS, wish they had cross-platform support. Sad
