All those Xenoblade pics sure make that new FF look boring as fuck.

Do not agree. The art of Xenoblade is nicer but there is nothing in Xenoblade like a gigantic leviathan destroying an entire city in real time. Xenoblade will have static environments while FF clearly does not, the setpieces in FF will blow away anything in Xenoblade.

FF defense force!!!!! Nyaa

Long before my comment on Xenoblade, Vader and a few others were having a tongue in cheek argument about it versus the FF series. I simply threw a few of my complaints about the game in there. I would tell you to learn to read before posting also, or I would stoop to calling you things like immature or "chief" but, really, I don't care. If you want to do your overly-aggressive, tired, old schtick, you can. If you expect me to expend more energy responding to it, well

So much passive aggressiveness in a single post.

Questions of tone aside, playing another intricate RPG doesn't necessarily mean your dismissal of the intricacies of Xenoblade are valid, or that you understood them, which I think is Iga's point. I wouldn't know, having played neither.

Good point, but my point was actually simple.

Leo made a claim about Xenoblade, which I actually did not fully agree on and explained my position.

XenoBlade had no idea how to handle difficulty scaling. The game got to be soooooooo boring, I never looked back after playing about 30 or more hours into it. I'm hoping it's addressed in the New 3DS version, but I'm expecting it's not.

Actually they did have an idea. You can either do all the sidequests and level up that way. The normal story enemies will not be a threat. If you are 6 levels above you enemies level, they will not even attack you anymore. Or you can skip the sidequests and level up by defeating enemies on your way. Either way you will never have to grind to finish the game.

The battle system in Xenoblade rewards people that actually take risk. You want an exiting battle, attack a monster that is 10 levels above. You need to study them and prepare you squad to beat them. They always put you to sleep?! Use a gem that stops that. You always miss?! Increase you accuracy with agility gems and skill links! Attacking enemies that are your level will be boring.

Also Sharla is just there to masturbate to, never ever use her in battle. She will slow shit down. All characters control totally differently and people really should switch things around. Stop using Shulk all the time, that will get boring.

Neither you or Vader actually bothered to learn the intrancies of the battle system. Heck even I will admit that there are still lots of things I do not understand yet.

But all these points are moot anyways. Xenoblade X had a mech so it autowins!

I actually responded to his criticism in good faith and explained some stuff. His answer:

phantom_leo said:

Play and finish Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII on Normal and then let me know about not learning the intricacies of a battle system.

How the hell does this adress anything I mentioned above?! I never said Xenoblade had the deepest battle system ever. I never even brought up other games. His argument is to dismiss my argument with a arrogant sneer, because I mentioned that both he and Vader have not fully explored the battle system in Xenoblade. People say that I am aggresive, WTF is that then?!

Dismissing people's argument because you think you are some expert is immature. Then acting like you do not want to discuss things after you started a discussion, that in my opinion is immature.

Robio,

I was wrong about Costume Quest.

Sincerely,

Phil "Aspro" Fogg

You are forgiven. May I ask what caused the change of thought? Did you find Jesus or something? At any rate I'm glad you changed your mind. Now I won't have to go Mike Tyson on you and "make you love it."

Must have been a frame of mind thing. I had only played it 38 minutes prior, and that was when I was just back into PC gaming, so I was likely comparing it to a full console experience as opposed to just appreciating the good things that were in it, like the music, the inventiveness, originality balanced with the paeons to JRPGs and the child's imagination perspective seen in games like Earthbound and Contact.
