Videogamer Evolve Review 6/10
Evolve should have been great. It isn't. Worse still is that its core idea feels as if it has been undermined by over-complication and, more disappointingly, the worst practices of modern publishing.videogamer.com impressions gamingeek

Bahahah the faces on that X game. Monolithsoft can't come up with a non-stupid looking character face even if their lives went on it. I've thought that since I was first horrified by Xenoblade's ridiculous, ugly mugs.

I don't think the faces look bad. The only face I can't stand is the default look for Cross but since he or she is customizable I could make a face that didn't look bad.
It just puzzles me. They're clearly talented. Way fucking talented. What's the deal with them and faces? Even plain, boring faces would be better than either gross or weird looking ones. Maybe it's some kind of ancient egyptian curse. They can't design nice looking faces because of...I dunno.
One thing I'll say is that Monolith has always used super anime looking characters going all the way back to the PS1.
That said, it is odd that the characters in the Xenosaga series on ps2 were so much better than the ones they've done on the Xenoblade series. ESPECIALLY considering they're working with Nintendo who are all about character.

I think with Xenogears and Xenosaga they focused on the character designs over the environments.
With Xenoblade they focused on the environment and creating a huge world that the character designs suffered.
Almost every open world game I played the characters looked horrible while the game world looked better.

I think that is the anime style they are going for. Looking at the character concept art (on the official website) they executed well on what was intended.
The debate over the characters faces is exceedingly old for those of use following the game - on GAF anyway. I've made my peace with it, if you see just how far the camera zooms out when you play as humans and just how large the enviroments are - 5x larger than Xenoblade Wii - detailed character faces are the last thing I'm thinking of.
EDIT: for zoomed out pic
The camera can go even further back.
That said, I'm okay with most of them except Elma and the girl who looks like a freaking China doll: the two on the left^
You can also create whatever main character you want.
Maybe we'll be able to create more? There's 4 player online questing and many more for indirect online interactions.
Bethesda basically confirmed fallout 4. They are having their first ever E3 conference, that means they have something huge to show.
Could be the new Doom too...
I'm all about a Fallout 4...that was basically known to be in development awhile ago so no doubt its ready to be shown. And yeah, DOOM should be good to go as well. Bethesda is becoming quite the powerhouse, they could have numerous games to show. Man I wish Bioware teamed up with them instead of EA.
I started playing Lightning Returns...this game actually has a big Majora's Mask influence to it. You only have 6 days until the end of the world and you have to complete as many quests as you can before that time. Pretty good so far, though maybe its just the engine being old now but the production values don't blow you away like they did in FF 13 and 13-2. FF13 was absolutely stunning when it first came out.
I could never get into Fallout. I missed the originals, yawned through a chunk of FO3 even modded before realizing it wasn't gonna get any better for me. New Vegas still sits in the backlog. I am of course much more excited for the prospect of a new TES game instead.
YES! YES! YES!
Makes me miss Swapnotes though. We had way too much fun with that.
They've ripped the 3DS models and just applied AA. Cheapest arcade game ever.
Playstation Move was a horrible failure of a great controller.
I mean they couldn't even get Capcom to add Move support to RE6 and Revelations after they had already successfully did so with RE5.

I had trouble but I finally downloaded it.

Maybe they're modeled after their real faces.

Maybe a strange computer virus that only attacks faces and it's stored on their PCs alone.
