And I played a crap ton of Borderlands 2 with him.
ANTHONY BURCH... !!!!!!!
WAH... !!!!!!!
Metroid Prime Trilogy is getting some major GAF love as well.
Beat Diablo! Adventure mode is better, like the mission structure. I went straight for torment 1, still pretty easy. Did my first rift, I actually was in danger, I had to roll around, I had to retreat at times, I actually used a health potion!!! I also died once, only cause the rift guardian spawned while I was fighting another yellow ranked enemy. Still most enemies hardly hurt me and simply take more time to kill, that is not a good combination. I guess I need to go to torment 2 but then o fear enemies will simply take extra long to kill and still won't hurt me.
Here is why the difficulty is all messed up in this game. Let's take a game like Dark Souls, when you reach an era with hard to kill enemies you know this because, THEY KILL YOU QUICKLY. If I fight a boss and three hits kill me I will be on extra guard, I will have to play it very safe, every moment is thrilling cause one mistake means death. Now take that same boss and make it so that difficulty only means raising the HP, so now I reach the boss it hits me and does tiny damage. I hit it and do almost no damage, the resulting fight is just me smacking it with a weapon for 10 minutes with no worry of death, no thrills, no reason to play it safe.
Diablo is an entire game built around the second example, a bunch of enemies that take time to kill. Not skill, not stratgey, just time. It is a terrible way to do difficulty. They need the enemy damage to be very high and lower enemy HP, that creates gameplay where every battle is thrilling and not tedious.

Those aren't the only colors in the game. But how would you suggest (for the areas that have those colours) they better create a diseased, unsettling atmosphere than with muddy colours like those?
I am not saying they shouldn't use them, just that it is ugly to me. MP was far more colorful and easy on the eyes, partly cause it does the classic game areas (forest, ice, fire, earth).
Mmkay.
Ran some rifts with solid tonight, we were on torment 3. I died a lot! But then I learned there is basically no penalty for death. There is supposed to be some armor degeneration but I have armor that negates that. Another thing this game gets wrong. Death needs to matter.
Anyone know if it's even possible to hook up a Wii U to an SDTV?
I am one of those smart people who nabbed an SDTV off ebay on the cheap for retro gaming. And I wouldn't mind playing Metroid Prime trilogy on it.
Please go teach Blizzard how to make a quality hack n slash title.
I tried my old Wii on HDTV trick with MPTrilogy and it worked. Switch your picture ratio on the tv to 4:3.
We all don't get some games. Bayonetta got fantastic reviews but the little I tried of it left me cold. If he doesn't like it he doesn't like it.
Absolutely....this is why I don't play music games, because its just not my thing. Could be the most incredible music game ever made, but I'm going to hate it. That said, I could at least respect it for what it was if I did play it & I wouldn't be trying to ram it down everyone's throats with paragraphs of my opinions spouted forth as facts that the game is "garbage".
Vader even said he's not a fan of the genre....oook so why even play the game? Makes no sense to me but whatever.
But then it doesn't play in widescreen...see this sucks. Either way you're losing something.
BTW...that's another peev I have with Trilogy. Even on the Wii U, the game has the same problem many Wii games did where they tell you its widescreen, but in fact doesn't use your entire screen. On my old Aquos LCD, Wii games like this one used to have bars on the sides even if they were wide ratio....only a few actually used the whole screen like a PS3 or 360 title. I believe the Galaxy games did, as well as Twilight Princess.
Now playing this Wii U version of Trilogy on my Bravia LED, the whole game is barred off not only on the sides, but also the top and bottom.
This is why I wish Nintendo would stop being cheap and just have someone remaster these Wii, Gamecube, and N64 classics instead of giving uss barebones ports. All these titles should have full true widescreen, HD visuals, redone Digital sound, and Gamepad controls. Any decent 3rd-party developer could do this work for them. Like Demiurge Studios who did the Wii U port of Mass Effect 3, the PC version of Mass Effect 1, and many others.
Anyone else try the STEAM demo yet?
Who has time for STEAM?
There be monsters in need of pummeling!!!!!
On a side note, for anyone who has not yet seen Knights of Badassdom, what the hell are you waiting for?
Steam demo? I already have the full program. Valve rocks.
I never even heard of this but now I must see it!
It's basically if you took a movie about LARP'ing and turned it into Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness. It's the best "bad movie" I've seen in a decade. And hell..... Peter Dinklage. That should sell the movie right there.
And I believe it's on Netflix right now.
Evil Dead is some of my favorite shit of all time. Made my girlfriend watch Army of Darkness with me last year...she was not amused. But that made it even better.
All righty then. Your mission for today is to watch Knights of Badassdom. You will be happy you did. Any metal head will love it.
