Also, why am I discussing something like this here?
I have a question. Is there a point to using uPlay (other than when it's forced upon you)? I was just looking at some Wii U channels and saw the uPlay one. I remember needing it for Rayman, but got rid of it afterwards. Is there some kind of incentive to submit information using it? Free crap from Ubi or something?
Watching the Nintendo Direct I missed while away.
I didn't notice this till you pointed it out. Weird.
Islamic toilet etiquette wiki:
A Muslim must first find an acceptable place away from standing water, or people's pathways or shade.[4] They are advised that it is better to enter the area with the left foot,[5] facing away from the Qiblah.[1]
While on the toilet, one must remain silent. Talking, answering greetings or greeting others is strongly discouraged.[1] The private parts must be washed with water after defecating or urinating to minimize germs that are present on urine and feces. When defecating together, two men cannot converse, nor look at each other's genitals.[6] A man should not touch his genitals with the right hand.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
When leaving the toilet, one is advised to leave with the right foot,[5] and also say a prayer – "Praise be to Allah who relieved me of the filth and gave me relief."[1] This is similar in concept to Asher yatzar, the prayers said by orthodox Jews when leaving the toilet in which they thank God for the orifices used to defecate/urinate,[14] and exact ways of proceeding and accompanying prayers are also specified in traditional Zoroastrianism.[15] It is also reported in the Hadith of Bukhari that whenever Prophet Muhammad went to the toilet, he said "In the name of Allah, O Allah! I seek refuge with You from all offensive and wicked things" (alternate translation: "from evil deeds and evil spirits").[16]
I think some will be better value than others, a Mario amiibo is sure to get you tons of content across many games. Meta Knight though?
I think the only ones I really really like are Samus and Captain Falcon, then Animal Crossing etc.
But Nintendo could have a whole freaking line of Animal Crossing Amiibos.
Not that I know of. AC Black Flag requires it to play online, I think, which I don't.
Amiibos suck, IMO. Nothing more than a cash grab.
I just realised how few games I have for my PS4, and how many I have for my Wii U. And there's almost nothing of interest coming out for the PS4 until Uncharted, which isn't coming for at least a year! Tomb Raider will be even longer thanks to MS. For Wii U, I'll be getting Captain Toad, Yoshi's Yarn, Kirby's Rainbow Curse, Splatoon, and most likely Zelda in that same time frame. *sigh* PS4, why you disappoint?.
I agree. They should just have released highe quality figurines and not bother with this NFC stuff. With Skylanders and Disney Infinity, you have to 'buy' you're character's physical statue, which adds value (in some cynical kind of way) as kids can play together, each with their own couple of figurines. With Amiibo, you don't unlock anything. Nintendo wouldn't keep Mario from a game unless you owned the Mario amiibo. So all you unlock are some skins or other superfluous items.
It's also been confirmed that the amiibo figurines can only store data for one game at a time, so this whole thing about amiibo being a personal companion across multiple games is bollocks as well. You want to play 'unanounced amiibo game A' with your Link figurine you levelled up in Smash? Well too bad, you'll have to delete his Smash stats first;
Yes, when you have Uplay you earn points when you play an Ubisoft game. Then you go into Uplay and spend those points on in game bonus items. I got a Zombi U cricket bat with the union flag out of it.
This is why some aspects of modern gaming depresses me. When Wii was out people dismissed sales and it was "all about the games" now regardless of games it's all about the sales on message boards and AAA hype marketing machines. People buy games before reviews even come out, people buy buggy, shitty or 7/10 games in blockbuster numbers, it's depressing. So many of todays games are "flopping" i.e not a consistent 9/10 and people are lapping them up anyway because the media has been hyping them for 2 years. Meanwhile U is getting shitted on largely because of image, it has a great exisiting library but nobody cares since the public consciousness has it marked as a failure. Much of which can be attributed to the 2 year hate campaign by the media.
PS4 sold on hype, games journalist bias and tech, not because it had or was going to get a shit load of great games (anytime soon.)
Eurogamer: Who needs games: PlayStation 4's first year
"It was the console that could do no wrong - but software was another matter. The PS4's launch set the tone for its first year: the games weren't stellar, but it didn't seem to matter. The first-party line-up was thin - Knack was dire, Killzone Shadow Fall was dazzling but hollow, DriveClub was delayed - but Sony was carrying so much momentum and goodwill, nothing could stop it. Gamers weren't even complaining too loudly that online gaming had been locked behind the admittedly good-value PlayStation Plus subscription - something Andrew House, Mark Cerny and Shuhei Yoshida must be pinching themselves about to this day."
"PS4s flew off shelves. The conventional wisdom that must-have games sell consoles was shattered. The exclusives were nothing special and third-party games were mostly available on PS3 as well, never mind Xbox, a state of affairs that has persisted all year. But if publishers were hedging their bets, gamers weren't.
And so we find PS4 facing Christmas with one of the weakest exclusive line-ups on record, and a third-party slate that's not much better. PS4's best games, from Shadow of Mordor to Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, can almost without exception be played on PS3. True new-generation games like Batman: Arkham City and The Witcher 3 have retreated into 2015 - and a good thing too, if the shambles that is the one exception, Assassin's Creed Unity, is anything to go by. The rest are remasters. Once again: why have we bought these machines?
Even allowing for DriveClub, and PSN's ups and downs (mostly downs), and those damned rubber sticks, Sony has had a great year. PlayStation 4 has had a great year. But PlayStation 4 owners haven't, not really. We've done our part: bought the machines in good faith and persuaded ourselves that those extra frames per second, those extra lines of resolution, are really worth it. It's getting hard to keep that up. The PS4 must be the most successful console without a killer app there's ever been, but its momentum can't last forever, its feelgood factor has worn off, and its opponent has got its act together. Sony - and all your partners - it's over to you."
I've got as many games for PS4 already as I have on Wii U, and next year should be even better. Don't see a problem myself but to each of us his own or some shit.
Kojima was completely talking out of his ass when he said the new version was amazing, and the awesome videos lately in 1st person are surely fake. All but Wii U fails again! And welcome back GG....hows the asshole?
Should have went with an Xbox One.
Yeah cause you can see performance on screenshots.
Read the article and comments section, there's plenty of back and forth. I think the main argument was that the exclusives failed or were middling, can't really argue against that - and that the multiplatform games are all stuff which would have (and mostly did) arrive on consoles you already own anyway, so what is the point of next gen when it hasn't delivered? Other games are too far away to care about right now.
I haven't seen any of the videos, only the first person gif, but I have been out of the country for a couple of weeks with no internet, so forgive me. These screens are the first comparison pics I have seen and I can't make out the difference. Surely because of my Wii U bias.
My asshole is okay, but I wish you would stop acting like one.
This is a great argument, I will use it with all comparison screens from now on.
GTAV in motion is ridiculous, a massive improvement over what we played before. I watched some streams, I was blown away.
So lbp3 got some meh scores. I blame you all.
I do this all the time! One must be thankful for the orifices.
Hueco is more used here to mean "hollow", but it's also used as a synonym of hole, although less frequently.
I'm stuck here at work instead of playing Inquisition. This sucks dick.
