PlayStation 4 has outsold Xbox One by over 40% worldwide

^Not neccessairily. Wasn't the GC also by far the most power efficient out of the 6th gen consoles? Or this could be about the follow up to the 3DS. Or it could also indicate yet another underpowered console
On the other hand, can you blame Nintendo? The GC, while being rather advanced in it's own way, didn't end up selling like hotcakes. In fact, the WiiU is the first Nintendo console to be considered 'underpowered' that hasn't been succesfull for them.
The Cube was powerful but it had many issues and things going against it.
It didn't LOOK powerful compaired to Ps2 or Xbox (or even Dreamcast).
No dvd or cd playback.
No digital audio.
Tiny memory cards until late in its life.
Controller lacking buttons compared to competition.
No online support outside PSO.
Etc etc.
So even though the Cube could push better visuals than Ps2, the Ps2 was better in every other way. And the visuals were more than close enough.

Do you think any of those issues hampered it so much? I'd argue that only it's looks and lack of online functionality had any real impact, and the latter only thanks to how MS embraced online play. And did the PS2 feature online out of the box?
Would the 6th gen console wars have played out siginificantly different if the 'Cube wasn't purple, didn't feature a handle, and hadn't been significantly smaller than the competition? I find it hard to agree with that statement.

The dvd playback was a huge selling point on the other consoles. Its pretty much what destroyed the Dreamcast once PS2 hit. Buy a $600 dvd player or a $300 game console/dvd player in one? I wouldn't be surprised if close to half the PS2's sales were because of that (which is why they thought they could do it again with blu ray on the PS3).
All those issues add up to a big problem. It means hardcore gamers and casuals alike are more likely to find the competition a better deal. As well as the press, who will promote things the way they like, which influences buyers. I definitely think if Nintendo matched what Sony and MS were doing in all those areas and were more aggressive as a whole, the Cube would have performed better. At the very least, they would have outsold the upstart Xbox.
Samurai Warriors 4 also came out today. This was the first Warriors game made with HD Next Gen systems in mind. I know many of you don't really care for this style of game, save maybe now Robio...
...but man oh man is the game looking smooth and nice on the PS4. The effects and number of enemies on screen now at one time is impressive!
I'll put it on the list of PS4 games to go back to one day once I finally get the system. My kid pretty much dominates the PS3 these days, and I've got Fantasy Life coming up in just a few days that should keep me busy for a while.
I've noticed a lot of those indie guys seem to be total douchebags. Maybe because they don't have a big PR firm behind them like guys at a big developer, so they just spout whatever they like as if they're talking to everyday internet forums.
As my DA2 playthrough nears its end, I can only think of how much of a Bioware fan am I. Maybe I'm gullible, maybe I'm easily amused. I'm pretty much ready and eagerly waiting for Inquisition.
I love Bioware games. DA2 was probably their low point last gen, and it was still a very good game. In my opinion, they were the developer of the generation hands down. Nobody else consistently blew me away like they did. Not even Nintendo.

Yeah pretty much.
DA2's main problem is that it shows it was rushed to hell. With some proper time it could have been on par with Origins, maybe even better considering some of the quests in DA2 area really cool in their outcomes. But that wasn't meant to be, and most of the people got stuck in the poor visuals or the shallow combat.
I think I won't open up my limited edition copy straight away. First I'll take my time to finish Psychonauts, after which I'll check ebay for prices for sealed LE's and decide what to do next. Still have my CE of the Wind Waker sealed as well.
Damn not even Iga can tell if it is real or not. I think I need to analyze it much more closely...

My prediction is a PS4 & an Xbox One, duct-taped together, for a November 2018 release.
And with a handle thrown in for good meassure.

Also that practically all of the game was spent in one location didn't help.
Two days till Bayonetta 2, I cannot wait!
Ooooooh, Bayonetta!

I plan to get it but I doubt at launch.
I'm getting Fantasy Life that day.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Yeah guys. What the hell is wrong with you? Bayonetta? Who wants to play some action game with a half naked chick? Man up and play Fantasy Life.
