Question: has anyone ever had a PS3 hooked up to an SD TV? I'm rearranging the house and the PS3 is only used by the boy these days or me for older ps1 and PS2 games. So I'm thinking or moving the console into the kid's/media room so that I can free up my main TV and put the Wii u on it. I'm curious to know if everything will still look decent though.

Text is shithouse, other than that there shouldn't be a problem. Get component cables if your TV has ports for them, though. They make a big difference.

I only ever had my PS3 hooked up to an SDTV the only problem I ever experienced was some text in certain games aren't optimized for SDTVs so it might be too small to see and you have to stand really close to the TV to read but I haven't really had that problem with games made after 2008.

My favorite part of Blood Dragon is when the guy picks up a rocket launcher or some shit for the 1st time, and he starts humming the riff to Slayer's Reign In Blood. Fucking hilarious.

Man Zelda is so good, why are there not more games like this?! WHY!?!?!? Wind Waker looks stunning. Not as stunning as the initial screenshot but still beautiful.

Yep, despite him being an arrogant and humorless SOB he still knows how to dream and make things happen. I sincerely hope it is with a big game, and not some bullshit thing.

Are you playing in 1080p or 720p? I tried on different resolutions and in 720p it didn't look that great. In 1080 it looked pretty stunning. Same for Rayman Legends.

Probably because most people hated Wind Waker's graphical style i.e. "It's too kiddie!"

Yeah at the time, bt since then everyone has recanted on judging a game based on an artsyle. Look at Borderlands for example.

I tried playing Wind Waker twice. I found the camera to be a bit primative, much like Kingdom Hearts. A bad camera is the fastest way to kill a game for me. But for the time it was normal to not know what to do with the camera.

It has whimsy and inventiveness though, as well as amazing presentation. I played it last year on GC using component cables on an HD TV and it looked better than almost all Wii games.

I just found out Retron 5 comes with au power adapters. Definitely getting one now.

EDIT: They are currently out of stock.

The reasons why I want noe is basically HDMI. I'd be able to hook up one of these and not have to worry abuot NTSC or PAL for my retro game systems from Nintendo or SEGA.

I don't think it was the art style...at least, speaking for myself personally. Its how they USED the art style. I still feel that look is too "kiddy" for Zelda. However, Skyward Sword and especially the new Zelda don't look kiddy at all and use the same style. I'm totally fine with the look of the new Zelda. I've always said this since day 1.

That said, Wind Waker does look GREAT for what it is. It just would have been better for a more lighthearted series. I still feel a Super Mario with that kind of art style would be a better fit. I think Dvader was talking about Zelda's gameplay though, not the art style. There used to be many games like Zelda....now, not so much.

As for it looking better than most Wii games, I feel this way about most of the Gamecube's top games....lmao. Outside of the very top level of Wii, the Cube lineup easily stands right up there. Be it REmake, RE4, Star Fox Adventures, F-Zero, etc.

I was thinking of getting one as well.....all retro games on one console is much easier than playing them on the originals just for nostalgia's sake.

It's a much deeper simulator than what I remember Act Raiser being, which also had some platforming if I remember right. All in all, it's a city builder through and through. I did the four tutorials and started a settlement. You have to manage the building, resource procuration, job assigning and much more as the needs of your population continue to grow. I find it to be more like CivCity Rome, but without the obnoxious combat element.

Thanks Steel. Sounds good at only $15 or whatever it is.

Are we really giving up on Xbox 360 and PS3?

Err....I certainly fucking hope so. I wanted to give up on them around 2011. They're old as fuck...360 came out in 2005, I mean we're talking 2004 or 2005 level tech here. We have nice new machines now....lets move the fuck on.

E3 2014 was rammed with games for PS4 and Xbox One.

It was an exciting show for those millions of gamers that have invested in Microsoft’s and Sony’s latest hardware.

Yet for that even larger audience yet to upgrade, and are still happily playing with their 360 or PS3, it was a disappointing week.

Dude....anybody who is happy with their old ass consoles have so many old cheap games to choose from going all the way back to 2005 that they don't NEED new games. There's no way anyone played every great game on PS3 or 360...we have nice new consoles that NEED new games. You want new games, buy a new fucking console....you're lucky PS3 and 360 lasted as long as they did in the 1st place. Totally unnatural generation length.

People never got over that realistic 2000 demo video. I had a hard time accepting that we would not play a Zelda like that, until I saw the first video of it in action. I think Miyamoto was more interested in expression.  Which explains why facial features such as eyes are over exaggerated.
