I watched the E3 trailer a couple of times, but really I don't see the appeal. It looks like a multiplayer shooter for kids. I like that Nintendo is finally doing a new IP, but it doesn't look like something I'd enjoy. Maybe I'll feel differently after Nintendo shows more of it.
Plus multiplayer anything and Nintendo is usually a bad combination. We know it will be the most barebones online possible. No shooter needs that.
That's true for me, not necessarily speaking for everybody though. I didn't see anything in the trailers or demos which made me go "Wow I wish I was playing this". As well as the fact that I wouldn't even consider an online-multiplayer only game without a single-player.
But all I seem to read is praise and excitement, so I try to remain open to persuasion.

I don't know about that they seem competent with multiplayer.
It is even supposed to have full voice chat so you can communicate with your team throughout the match, not just in the lobby like Mario Kart 8.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
I like that they are making Yoshi's Woolly World more challenging.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
The most frustrating thing about Nintendo is their unwillingness to include difficulty options. Why make Kirby's Epic Yarn for kids-only, but then make Yoshi Woolly World more difficult? It makes no sense. Gamers should be able to enjoy both games no matter their skill level. And I really hate the whole "play through the entire game to unlock hard mode" BS too. Just include Easy, Normal, and Hard options right from the beginning, Nintendo! Video games have had that basic feature since the 1970s!

Some game genres can't easily have difficulty options introduced without effectively changing the game. In a fighting game or RPG you increase the opponents' HP or life gauge etc. In a shooter you make the player take fewer hits before they die. How do you make a platform game like Mario/Yoshi more difficult without making it a different game? Remove some of the platforms? Fewer extra lives? Or a game like Zelda where killing enemies is just something to do while you get from one puzzle to the next. What difference would making them tougher make? Or a Boss. Any challenge is in discovering how you have to defeat it, so you either know what to do or you don't. Making a boss take five hits instead of three won't change anything once you know how to do it.

Will it have actual game invites? Stat tracking? Leaderboards?
Have no idea yet. It might have them.
It already does have something like Stat tracking possibly. Where you can still be on the losing team but still end up in first place in the match.
One thing I hope they implement is something like MKTV so people can spectate on the matches and up load them to YouTube that would be awesome.

You know what would be the perfect franchise for Sony's VR headset?
