I posted the majora's mask wii u way back when the console launched.
You're late GG!
Capcom should take their heads out of their asses, and stop making ruinous decisions.
Darn it.
What have they done now?
BTW guys:
Epic: 1/3rd as many AAA games in dev this gen But each with 3 times the budget
No comment on this story? So we're going to only get 1/3rd as many AAA games as before and as we've seen everything else is indie. Are you happy with this? Is this why news has been so slow lately? What about the financial implications? If a game costs 3x more could a bomb or a couple of bombs literally ruin a developer?
Yeah the death of the mid tier sucks balls. There are so few games coming out now.
And it's not just the death of mid-tier, it's two thirds fewer AAA games too according to Epic, which I would assume is data gathered from how many UE4 games are in development. Feels like there's nothing to talk about these days, but then we are near to E3 and it usually goes quiet now anyway.
I miss the virtual console. I was buying NES Remix 2 and the Wii U store has a lot of Virtual Console games. I was navigating the menu and remembering those early Wii days. The thrill of every week having new classics to play. The menu with all the different consoles of our youth, those logos of all those classic games. The Leo thread that hyped potential games. And of course the joy of playing those old games.
It was all so great and it just stopped. Never reaching its full potential.
Wii U virtual console is just a rehash, nothing really new, no where near as fun as it was back in the day.
You can just see, everyone has fewer games out.
The death of midtier games is the biggest problem I see. Remember when Epic produced the Gears series, yet brought smaller games like Bulletstorm.
Won't mid-tier games return when we're in the middle of the console cycle? I'm not saying they'll return in full force, but I can see them making sense again then.
These days, most big games are cross-gen, because publishers are scared about making their money back, and PS4-Xbone install bases just aren't large enough. I can definitely see mid tier games returning when there is enough of a critical mass for a game to be profitable when it's only being picked up by less than 1% of the console owners.
I can also see indie teams evolving into bigger devs that could take on the role of mid-tier developers. I mean really, how many of the big devs of today started out as 3 guys in the basement?
NES Remix 2 guys, come on beat my scores.
Its time for Remix miiverse 2!
I look forward to playing NES Remix 2 sometime over the summer.
I think we're actually seeing more of the mid-tier games coming out for the PS3 now that the PS4 is out. Lots of the NIS weird Japanese games for instance.
I told you guys VR is the future. Proof right there.
