So sad to hear the news about Irrational Games. I've been thinking about them these last few days wondering what they would do next. I guess I felt a disurbance in the force.

GO!
FFXIV beta begins on Sat on PS4, free for all! One week, but there will be a character wipe.
I already bought the game so this will serve as a nice preview.
So i go from FFXIII-2 to FFXIV.
Sad to read that about Irrational. Can't say I really was a BioShock fan, but I did appreciate the story and the art of the game. BioShock really will go down as one of the games that defined the last generation of gaming.
And sadly the studio's fate is also going to be one of the things that defines the last generation of gaming. Big budget AAA games that would be considered blockbuster smashes in any other point in this industry's history are now considered failures and result in closed studios. It boggles the mind.
It makes you wonder what do you have to do to be profitable in this business?
Infinite did over 4 million in sales, and apparently didn't meet goals. Tomb Raider wasn't considered a success at 3 million copies sold (though it is now), so it really is a scary thing. It certainly shows why there's so much indie development. If you can make a game for $100K and you charge $10 you've got a lot better chance of making your money back than if you make a 60 million dollar game that sells for $60.
On that note, I hope Ubisoft is ready to take one hell of a hit on Watch Dogs.
Wow. Irrational is gone. No new Bioshock games?
I just don't get it....Bioshock was one of the most successful franchises of the PS360 era, and its not enough?
This world needs to get its shit straight before it hits the fan....and I'm not just talking about gaming. But this is a good example of the kind of bullshit that is going on in ALL kinds of business these days.
Any business that can't be successful selling 4 million of anything, must rethink their entire business model, because there is a serious problem at hand.
Make free to play mobile games.
I just got two items in my inventory on Steam it says that I get two 25% off coupons for Broken Age; I got it "For Double Fine Loyalty" it expires on March 14th.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
So much for all the "background downloading" BS when it comes to the PS4... I just wanna download Strider, but I CAN'T because I haven't turned my system on in weeks and I need a system update, but that's being held up by a Killzone update, which is being held up by a Don't Starve update... I can't even sign in to PSN right now!!
You can stop those game updates if you want, Leo. Just go to Notifications, Downloads, hightlight the download you wish to stop, Options button and then Delete. I've done it several times. I wouldn't stop the system update, though.
Also, if you have PS Plus, then you can leave your PS4 in sleep mode, and it'll do those updates automatically.
Boo to that!
With LOTS of microtransactions!
Check out this guy's game room!
I especially like the book end Nintendo Power covers.
I finished the last Game Under podcast, just fantastic. What a breakdown of GTAV. Personally I would have liked more focus on the gameplay of GTA, I felt that got the shortest segment. What I have come to realize is that Foolz is a gaming savant.Foolz notices the most minute details and understands concepts at a level of detail that is just astounding. Here is a man that is playing a game with the most detailed open world ever, he could be doing almost anything and he is staring at a rock cause of its textures and I don't know what else. He is a man that follows expert players online for hours so he can learn their patterns. The way he broke down the pattern boss was just beautiful.
Now I don't always agree with him but its damn interesting. I think the podcast works great cause Aspro represents the more common person so when Foolz gets way too out there, Aspro is there to counter or reel him in. I have noticed many times that I would want to say something to Foolz Aspro comes in and makes the comment I would. Just a great job guys.
I few points, you mention that GTA stories are basically America sucks. You know I have never though of it as that. I understand the games are making fun of nearly every aspect of American culture but it never seemed to show them in a way that was demeaning. Never has a GTA game felt like "look what a shitty place America is", instead in a strange warped way its a celebration of how arrogant, superficial, money hungry America could be but damn it would you really want to live anywhere else, no. I never played Vice City and thought, damn Miami sucks, instead it made me love my city more. I bet LA residents feel the same about GTAV. You want your city to be in GTA, I guess I would equate it to a roast, yeah its going to get trashed but it still feels like an honor, there has to be an underlining love for the culture for it to work. At least that is how I see it, but of course I am American.
You guys are totally right about the story in GTAV, everything was working great when the characters were separated. All the individual storylines had great potential. Then they got together and the story slowed down. My favorite parts of the story for the last half of the game were any time you did a side quest where it focused on one character at a time. I liked Aspro's idea of having a GTA game with three totally separate campaigns.
I loved GTAV and it has issues here and there but I don't care that much about the story or it's graphical prowess, where GTAV was weakest were the missions. That is what had to be talked about the most. There was a whole lot of missions that were the most crappy fetch quests I have ever seen. You had to do a series of about 3 of these missions before getting to the main heist mission.
