So, I listened to the Game Under Podcast Ep 30 this morning. How you guys can talk about first-person shooters for nearly 4 hours is simply mindboggling.
BTW, thanks for the Enslaved spoiler warning! I managed to fast-forward just in time to not hear any spoilers. I just bought that game last weekend, and haven't had a chance to play much of it yet.
Looks like I've found a glitch in DmC.
That jump I was talking about in Level 17 is a total standard jump that I should be able to use the ship to traverse, but the "hook" point never activates when the ship comes into contact.
I've tried going back successfully and doing it off other hooks, so I know I have the right move, and in watching on Yoube it's just a normal jump.
I'm not downloading the patch for this game, it's huge, so I dunno.
Hey thanks for listening.
If it makes a difference in terms of how you view our sanity levels those shows are generally recorded in chunks and edited together.
Ah, that makes sense.
I have to work overtime tomorrow, alone. Nobody else will be working, so I'm downloading 10 hours worth of Game Under podcasts. Hmm, I wonder what my sanity level will be like afterwards?
It'll save your sanity.
That is because Star Tropics was developed by R&D3 which was Nintendo's first American developer.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
I guess I'll have to try downloading them in the morning. iTunes is downloading at 56k speed right now.
WTF, Apple?
Thanks for reading dude! The Jestream Sam and Bladewolf DLC?
It means it's a lazy early gen console port.
We are full of spoilers. Aspro usually flags them, though.
That one wasn't I don't think, though.
I am pretty sure everyone can tell the difference, its a remarkable difference in smoothness. Just in consoles it is extremely rare so it maybe possible to never even see it. Now when in game I dont think it matters as much, if it dips as I play I dont notice but if the first moments with a 60 FPS game is like woah.
Didn't Bioshock 1 have the option to select 30 or 60?
Not that I noticed. You can disable V-Sync, which supposedly makes the game run smoother, but it looks like ass.
That's what I'm thinking. It seemed to add a lot of screen tearing which made it unplayable.
The why we game podcast really got me thinking about gaming and its place in the medium. I agree that books take the most mental attention, there is no way to coast through a book if you are reading it correctly. There are some games where you enter such a rhythm that you arent even thinking anymore. But in terms of all senses, video games is the most involving entertainment medium there is. Sight, sound, touch, mental problem solving, it takes hand eye coordination, its the total package really.
I think foolz mentioned how the majority of gamers are the kinds who play online, play one game a few times a week with theirs buddies. I forgot exactly what was said but Aspro talked about the differences of those who play single player and those that play mostly online, its a totally different kind of playing. That got me thinking, think about how isolating of an experience a single player game is. I would say that most of the time someone watches a movie its with someone. Music is heard at parties or concerts, places where many people meet. Books are isolating as well but they don't take as long as a game and they are usually about some subject that involves human nature, its about people or learning about our world. Single player games is a very isolated experience usually in an extremely fantasy setting and takes many many hours. Think about a big RPG that takes 100 hours. That meant you removed yourself from the world for over 100 hours, thats like watching 50 movies by yourself.
So I was thinking of this (in a long car ride so my mind wanders) and it dawned on me why forums are so important for this medium. Because its such an isolated experience and lets face it its not the most widely accepted entertainment medium, the need to connect to other like minded indiviuals is almost necessary. I honestly wouldn't know what I would do without game forums. When you finish a movie and leave the theater what is the first thing you guys talk about "what did you think?". Almost every other medium you can easily get a conversation on what you watched or read but with gaming that is usually not the case. We need to talk about what we experienced, we need to sort of balance out all that isolation with some communication. I need a place like this in order to enjoy all my games properly.
So thank you guys for being such a great place to talk about games and connect with other gamers who view games the same way I do.
Well said! Thank you!
Yay. After dying 49 times I found a way to cheezit.
Sometimes that feels better than doing it properly.
Absolutely.
Some people are reporting that in Italy EB games is canceling all Watch Dogs Wii U preorders cause they say the game has been canceled for Wii U. Seems wrong to me cause the game should be practically done. Or maybe that region may lose it. The official websites in italy still have the wii u logo so who knows. Scary if true but not expected.
5. Batman: Arkham Origins (360, PS3, Wii U, PC) - <650,000 (PS3 + 360 = 98.2%, Wii U = 1.8%)
6. Assassin’s Creed IV, Black Flag (360, PS3, Wii U) - <630,000 (Wii U = 1%)
This is why wii u third party games will become extinct very soon.
Me likey.
