Looking through all the pics from current gen, PS3 rules the roost. Killzone 3, God of War 3 and 4 and The Last of Us look better than anything else. I would lump in stuff like Beyond etc but cutscenes for me aren't real as they dont always reflect in game models or animations. Like in Assasins Creed for instance.
Beyond and Heavy Rain are all in-game graphics, GG. I don't think there are any pre-rendered cutscenes in either game.

In engine cutscenes can still be significantly enchanced over in gameplay graphics. Assasins Creed, Batman Arkham games for instance. I also don't know about the scope of Cages' games, how big they are, how open they are how many npcs there are etc etc etc.
Hmm, I saw no difference in graphics between actual gamplay and in-game cutscenes in Heavy Rain. It all looked the same to me.
It wasn't in that you could clearly tell high level Gamecube and Xbox games looked better than PS2 games, but you could also clearly tell they were from the same era.
This is no different than Genesis vs SNes....Snes clearly had better visuals but Genesis was even enough to tell it was of the same period.
Last Of Us, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Uncharted series are by far the best looking PS3 games. But 360 almost always had better multi-platform performance. I always found that funny.
Best looking exclusive 360 games would be the Gears Of War series, Halo Reach and 4, and I guess Forza? Fable 2 was a great looking game but not AMAZING...same with Alan Wake.
The video for it just weird. I honestly have no idea what to make of it. Etrian Odessey meets Persona. . . meets cute Japanese chibis . . . meets Austin Powers? I just don't know. I do know I'll get it though.
Halo Reach looked bad to me..Frequent framerate drops, and texture pop-in just like in Halo 2.. Bleh.I had it fully installed too.
Yeah. Searching a bit more, I found it was an Etrian Odyssey style game, but you decide on what teams you'll follow at certain points. This, plus answering certain questions will alter the game's storyline or path somewhat too. Sounds interesting.
One strange thing that's keeping me a tiny bit apprehensive is they're not showing the bottom screen yet.... that's odd.
Even to this day internet whining, bitching and general bratty entitlement, never ceases to amaze me. I saw the several games announced and thought: "Awesome! More Persona!" Apparently --mostly-- everyone else's reaction is: "That's it? This sucks!" "That chibi style is gay!" "This is what Sega has done to Atlus!" etc, etc, etc...
Supposedly, the hate flung at Atlas at the time of the announcements was completely insane. Gaming is great 'cept for the majority of gamers...
Leo, are you viewing threads in the GAF as well? Jesus, the spewing hatred it just something else over there. I mean, everyone got what they wanted, a Persona 5 announcement and yet the things I'm seeing.... just awful. I'm not bouncing up and down regarding the other announcements (mainly because I though Persona 3DS was going to be another Persona 3 port and got very bummed once I learned the truth). Sure PQ is not going to be everyone's thing, and it's hard not to laugh at the dance game. But this stuff is all just icing, and if these dumbasses knew anything about cake they would know that you can wipe off the icing and just eat the cake.

I like the chibi style. Looked great in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
They all stay up late for an announcement that wasn't even meant for the Western audience and then they all go about cursing out Atlus as if it's a personal attack against each of them, individually, personally... It was for Japan. Not GAF. GAF is not the entire world. Get over it.
