4 out of 5 - "a fresh and unique take on Sega's mascot that recaptures everything that was great about his 2D adventures, rights the wrongs of his 3D outings, and takes him into uncharted territory"

I just got to try out the PS4 and it's a terrible demo station. The controller is fantastic, triggers are finally up to standards, face buttons feel as good as always, sticks are wonderful and even the track pad feels nice. The controller is noticeably bigger, mostly around the handles, it's weird cause I have gotten used to the tiny DS pads over the years, it feels more like a 360 one when you simply hold it.
I tried knack, it's as boring as it looked. You have one attack button and r stick dodge, that's the move list. You move down a tiny corridor fighting basic enemies that do major damage but it's all so slow. It felt like I was playing something from the ps1 era. The TV is too close and the settings are kind of off, the game looked grainy, not impressive.
I tried FIFA, I couldn't tell you the difference between it and current gen. The most fun I had was with octodad which is the most absurd game I have played in a long time. The controls themselves are funny, but not something you want to show off.
The entire experience was a buzz kill, I have games that look better and are simply much more fun to play at home. This new generations jump in graphics is pathetic.
Eh, sounds bad. But they are boring games I guess. What else would make the demo stations better? Driving games or FPS are the obvious alternatives.
The new nba2k trailer is insane, they need that. Something visually that wows.
Why not just show porn on it?
I'm starting to regret sending my Wii U off to Nintendo. At this rate I'm not going to see it until November.
More and more articles are being published about the "Mystery" behind A Link Between Worlds. I think there's something to it. I think this game will be the one that defines the timeline and tries to tie everything together. I know the current theory is two parallel timelines where Link either fails or succeeds in Ocarina of Time; I think Hyrule and Lorule will be the split between differing games in the series, some taking place in one, some the other. I think by the end of LBW Lorule will become a "New" Hyrule and Hilda will take on the Honored name of Zelda and the past and future games will fit into this new design and timeline. Just a theory.
Oh. Forgot to mention. One of the reasons I believe this to be true: The Hyrule Historia and "Timeline" came about just around the same time they started to work on A Link Between Worlds. I think one gave birth to the other or they were conceived around the same time. I doubt it's coincidence.

Anybody excited for the new Batman?

If I recal well, Nintendo always have had an internal 'timeline' for the Zelda games. They just made it public in the Historia.
Also, the Hyrule Hystoria is such a missed opportunity. The bulk of the book is filled with Skyward Sword art, while there must be treasure chests worth of material from previous games.
Rolling out my sequel theory again, because I think this is going to be a perfect example.
Bat2 sold better on the reputation of Bat1, plus more users. Bat3 will sell poorly because Bat2 was not as good as Bat1 (regardless of the quality of the game). Publisher will point to Bat3 and say, "Ah, that's where we went wrong, lets go back to our heyday and focus Bat4 to be more like Bat2, our best selling title to date." Bat4 flops, franchise gets exploited one last time for Bat5, studio disbands, franchise shelved for re-boot in 7-10 years.
Rocksteady creative leads leave company saying they want to focus on new IP, a driving game for iOS that they are Kickstarting.
I thought they had no timeline but shoe-horned one for Hyrule Hystoria?
Phil Collins makes everything awesome.
Maybe someday, they'll realize they can take a risk and make the game like the past, no stories or moments to distract us from what's important. Until then, I'm afraid that we'll continue watching Sonic starring in irregular games like these.
