So you think the PS4 will be similar to the Xbox One in that regard?

For all third party games, yes.

I just blew my own mind.... imagine if the licence conditions..... changed (i.e were different between) publishers? It's already complicated enough reading Microsofts terms, imagine if Ubisoft restricted something EA allowed but Activision did in a different way? It would be a nightmare scenario.

Yeah the same thing crossed my mind these last couple of days.  Being averse to the need for this kind of data banking about who allows what when and where it validates my decision for the time being to be concerned with U/3DS going forward from the current gen.  I prefer the simpler life as I get older and also don't like the idea of games with use by dates especially since I have been in the habit of hogging and backlogging games for so long.

Raven I've got bad news.  Just read this in the Siliconera review of New Leaf:

"The grass depletion problem of Animal Crossing: City Folk appears to be gone.  I've been running everywhere for a few weeks and not seen any less grass."

You know what that means right?  You have to get it now!

edit:  people in the comments have been saying that grass deterioration is there but it's just massively massively toned down and it doesn't look anywhere near as barren and weathered as it did in City Folk.  And apparently if you just plant a few flowers it grows back fast.  You still have to get it WinkWink

You know what that means right?  You have to get it now!

I don't know Andre from GameXplain has been playing it and his grass is completely gone in spots.

I think it depends on the Ordinances that you pass, I think the person from Siliconera might of picked Beautiful Town under ordinances.

The Beautiful Town Ordinance helps keep the town looking neat and tidy. The key benefits of choosing this ordinance are:

  • Villagers water plants
  • Villagers are more likely to plant flowers
  • Time traveling does not affect the town's environment
  • Cockroaches will not appear
  • Weeds are more rare

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:

  • SMB Mix-Up! (1AB2-0000-0047-5A7D)
  • Storm the Castle (77BD-0000-00E0-A9C0)

I think you're right.  People have been saying so in the comments, but apparently the wear is a lot slower and a lot less visible as well as easier to rectify.  With City Folk GG gave me some tile patterns for laying down paths which meant that it ultimately wasn't a problem.

I've been posting in the Wii U Miiverse E3 community, a lot of fun, tons of activity, check it out. Non-U owners can still view it on PC, just google it.

Yes and you could easily regrow grass within a couple of weeks.

EA on Wii U and last-gen console support:

Electronic Arts hasn't completely written off the Wii U, but there won't be any games coming from them for the Nintendo console this fall, EA president of labels Frank Gibeau told Polygon.

"We have a good partnership with Nintendo," he said. "We released four games on the platform over the last year and we're pretty proud of Need For Speed, and Madden, and FIFA and Mass Effect. We have guys that our looking at the Wii U in the studio system right now as an opportunity for the future, but we have no publicly announced Wii U games that we're going to release this fall."

Gibeau added that the developer and publisher does consider the Wii U a generation four console, the generation that includes both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. But when asked why the publisher doesn't have any titles in development for the system, Gibeau said that there's "no more context for me to add."

"We're really excited about the Xbox One and the PS4 and that's a pretty big endeavor in and of itself," he said. "We have four titles out on the Wii U that are active right now, so looking at how things unfold, that's where our focus is right now."

Gibeau also talked about the company's planned support for what, as of this coming holiday, will become last gen consoles: The PS3 and Xbox 360.

"Gen 3 is an awesome platform," he said. "It has a huge audience and has a lot of capability and we're going to continue to publish games on gen 3 for as long as there is an audience there. We have a tendency as a company to support the last-gen platforms for many many years. I can tell you we have products planned for next year, the year after that and the year after that for gen 3 for sure."

This E3 could be the worst in years or the best.  Lets hope everyone delivers the games and leave the egos at home.

It's definately going to be the best worst E3 since the year they did not do E3 at all (the Santa Monia/ West LA one).

That Frank Gibeau certainly said a lot without saying anything at all.

Had a good time in Boston today. Went to see a Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Paaark. It was wicked it awesome. The city feels like a museum almost, so many old looking buildings. I went to where Paul Revere's house is and it felt I was trasported to the 1800s. Good vibe in the city.

I just beat Resident Evil Revelations.

Its a quality game and a step in the right direction, but Capcom still has a long way to go to match the greatness of the classics. Its better than Resident Evil 6, but not Resident Evil 5 or certainly any before that. The only palce I would say it has RE5 beat is in the "horror" area...and even then, its not even close to the older games in that regard.

Production values were solid, especially for a 3DS port.

Outside of the horror element, another thing I'd like to see Capcom improve on is the feeling of character and weapon progression. The last few RE games have not given me the feeling that the older games did in terms of feeling like you are getting ever so slightly stronger as the game moves on. In Revelations, even though you do gain new weapons and enhancements as you go, you never feel as though they're really making much of a difference. Its not like in Remake or something where you're like "Oh fuck yeah, the grenade launcher! Now I can fuck shit up!" Or "Ooooh the shotgun, this is going to allow me to get through those tough areas so much easier"...I don't feel that way in this one, or Resident Evil 6.

The story was also very goofy, but fuck it...its a handheld offshoot basically right?

So I'd score it an 8 out of 10. Nice effort...keep going and maybe you can get back to the level you were at in 2004.

Pretty much agree except you dont mention raid mode and raid mode alone makes the game a 9 for me.

Sorry man, I know what its like to have your team go down..its not fun.

I can't believe they were able to keep them off the scoreboard to that extent and to win in 4...was not expecting that at all regardless of how hot the B's are.

I'm hoping for a Bruins vs Blackhawks Cup final...similar teams, similar cities. Would be fun.

Battle of the two cities I last visited. I am a good luck charm it seems. Now if only that would apply to Miami, we better win tomorrow.

8/10=better than RE5. In fact, I think it's superior to RE5 all around. The condensation of item management and the like works really well and the pacing is excellent. It's more intense. The structure is original and enjoyable, and the setting is far better. I'd say it could do with more bosses, but the bosses in RE5 were shit, so meh. RE5's co-op is perfection, though.

Animal Crossing does not come out here until the 15th.

I'll be too busy playing The Last of Us.

The two smartest things in gaming that happened this week:

  • Nintendo releasing Animal Crossing New Leaf in time for E3.  All those game reviewers will be going nuts about street passing at E3 this week.
  • Naughty Dog beating the E3 hype by allowing early reviews, also ensuring that The Last of Us is a top topic at E3 amongst reviewers (in front of the public).

Meh.

You are anti-handheld games. And Raid Mode is a bore (not as bad as mercs, though).
