MGS4, Valkyria chronicles, demons souls, yakuza games, 3d dot game, thu had a bunch o killer third party exclusives. One being the bet game of this gen. You forgot god of war, motorstorm, resistance, and a wealth of great psn games like pixeljunk. Some hit or miss games there but many of the best games of last gen were ps3 exclusives.

But wouldn't you agree that Microsoft has even fewer exclusives than Sony?  There's Gears, Halo, PGR, um...Fable.

That was kinda my point in Vader's blog. If Sony and MS get the SAME multi-platform games next gen and they are of the same quality (internal structure of both systems is closer than ever now... supposedly), then what will draw crowds is the strength of first party games. Compare a list of what could be exclusive to Wii U, Sony and MS, and you'll see why I haven't lost faith in Wii U yet.

I will not pay for the ability to play online multiplayer. Sony would be very stupid to get rid of such an ace, IMO.

My outlook on gaming and Consoles changed pretty drastically this generation. I'll always be a Nintendo fan, first and foremost. If there's no Sega system to be loyal to, then Nintendo is the company that I still look to and recognize as the one that made me a gamer. As cheesy as it sounds, kinda like a first-love, Nintendo will ALWAYS have a place in my heart, in my pocket and on my TV stand.

Microsoft and Xbox has become what I envisioned the Dreamcast would have evolved into had it survived. They take more chances than Sony. They have more games that feel and play like PC titles than Sony's systems have. Maybe it's because they captured the market earlier than Sony and all developers were guaranteed revenue if they made 360 games, but it seemed as if 360 got A LOT of the best versions of A LOT of the multi-plat games. Maybe that influenced my view greatly? There was something about 360 games that actually motivated me to PLAY and FINISH games this gen. The Mass Effect series had a lot to do with that. Fable too. Stable online play and Xbox Live made an online player out of me that I never was before. Cooperative online seems to be so much better on 360... and when playing with Travo.  

I'll never deny Sony's contributions to the market in general over the last decade and a half, but they keep on seemingly getting things WRONG again and again, and move further and further away from relevancy somehow. I don't know what it is. Their arrogance at the introduction of the PS3 started things on a VERY sour note, and they haven't recovered yet in my eyes. Come what may tomorrow, they better choose their words and actions VERY wisely. In my opinion, it's do or die time for them. Either knock it out of the park, or start hiring developers to make games for iPad and throw in the towel. There's no in between.

If you're not dropping more than $300, don't plan on getting one for about 2 years. No way do they launch at the same price as the Wii U. I'm right there with you though. They'd have to dangle Persona 5 and EverQuest Next to make me bite at a higher price.

I'm fairly certain it'll be more, probably $400.

Rumours of $429 and people are pissed off..and will be pissed off if it's not 10 times as powerful as Wii U? Lol. Obviously the tablet adds to the Wii U's price, but c'mon people.

Me too but that happens like twice a year. The rest of the time their system is gathering dust.

This gen Sony did some really stupid things but have gotten so much better as it went on. You talk about a different kind. Of console from launch to now.  The reason we play is for the games and the ps3 had he best lineup of games this gen. Their exclusives covered a huge variety of genres much more diverse than the other two. Their strength action adventure is MSs weaknes and of me that is a huge factor. They  have been the most open publisher, open to the widest variety o ideas. LBP to me is something I would have expected Nintendo to make, no game this gen was as magical to me. Their first party is better than ever and only is second to Nintendo.

but yeah it sucked having the bad ports.
