Nintendo had just bounced off of new about the Wii U selling like shit in January, and in the previous week Rayman Legends had been delayed to go multi-platform. People were expecting those things to be addressed. Instead it was really a 3DS focused Nintendo direct with lots and lots and lots of Mario and Luigi. Any other time it probably would have been received just fine, but given the state of the Wii U's issues it just seemed like they were trying to fill the hole with more Mario on the wrong system.
Oh and welcome back. I hope you have regular digestion experiences again soon.
The hate started when the Wii U lost Rayman as an exclusive. Now apparently the system is doomed.
Just posted it in its own blog. If I had any shame I wouldn't mind you, but fuck it man. I got rid of shame a long time ago.

I can understand it going multiplatform, but delayed too? Till when? Also I saw a chart comparison with the first 3 months of sales compared with various platforms and u was doing similarly well compared to gc and wii, other systems, even xbox1 and ps2 were much higher. I expect better marketing, more games and a price cut would do wonders. We are so early. I expect high priced next gen consoles to face similar struggles.
The current date is sometime in September.
NFS Criterion wii u preview said:The extra time was not spent in vain, something that became obvious once Most Wanted was up and running on a television. The Wii U port pulls in the PC assets and immediately sports a much longer draw distance and better frame rate than its console cousins. Having played my fair share of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, the work that went into this Wii U version was clear – and not just in graphical fidelity, either. "When we got the final hardware in November, we started to look at it, to really experience it, and start to think that just a port isn't going to cut it. Like we'd be embarrassed if we didn't do anything extra; putting something out, any team could do that.". Speaking with GamesRadar in a recent demo, Alex Ward noted that the Wii U version will feature a “notable increase in visual quality” over its console counterparts, largely due to its superior memory performance and more modern GPU architecture.
“The Wii U has more memory, so we’re able to use the PC textures and assets. The road is more detailed, the lighting is improved, the draw distance has been tweaked.”
The fuck? Why not just release the u version on time and port later? Fuck me they don't delay multiplatform games to wait for u versions. Typical bullshit.
Also apparently Microsoft has a policy that states that all multiplats release on the 360 day one or not at all.
So since Ubisoft wanted Rayman Legends on the 360 they had to delay the Wii U version because of Microsoft's policy.

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Just read the u game is complete, ubi delaying it just for other versions, such utter bullshit. Even the devs have protested.
Ubi got scared off from ZombiU sales and as Ninty pointed out they got painted into a corner by MS.
It does suck. I am sure there were plenty of people who got a U for Rayman.
The marketing explanation is a legit one, but only if the game isn't as good as we've all anticipated. If the game is AAA quality, the word of mouth would be more than enough to carry the PS3 and 360 version. I wrote a very long letter to Ubisoft and reminded them of how Capcom handled the PS2 release of RE4 with a very minimal ad budget.
At DICE, nobody has been talking about the new Wii U projects they have started, only the Wii U projects that have just been cancelled. Platform is in serious trouble. Publishers and developers from the US, UK, France, Germany, and Australia mainly. Pubs and devs never recoiled from PS3 like they seem to be with Wii U (though this is anecdotal). There was always the confidence that the numbers would get there over time with PS3. I'm not sensing that with Wii U. I had a data point yesterday at lunch with a high budget Wii U game that was hoping to sell "millions" over time. It only managed "tens of thousands". It is one of the top rated games for the platform.

There was another dev: A dev that worked on Rayman Legends took to the internet with an important message. He said that the dev team felt just as hurt as the rest of us. The delay of the game/push to multiplatform was a shock to them as well. They worked very long hours to push for a February launch, doing away with family/friend/personal time. They crunch and crunch, only to find out their hard work has been pushed until September...with more to come for 360/PS3.
The main point this dev wanted to make came to the consumer/game relationship. He didn't want people to crap on the game because of Ubisoft's decision. This is a title that these devs are very proud of and have put a ton of work into. The game itself is going to be fantastic, but now the devs are worried that people will ignore their title all because of this mess. Just imagine putting in years of work on a project, only to have a fiasco come up like this and bite you in the ass? The poor devs had nothing to do with the decision. http://neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=512249
Oh fuck off.
OMG it's GG! It's like GG came home to find his house on fire.
I said it was because of Microsoft's Policy were a game has to release either first on the 360 or release on the same date as the other versions.
Microsoft figures if the game isn't on the 360 same day or before every other system release they don't want it on their system.
