'Freaks' and tweaks: ZombiU's winding path to launch
"One year ago, trying to make such an ambitious game, it [was] a bit stupid, I think. It has been tough. It has been a huge amount of work, but it's done."

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U features, graphical, audio issues?
" This version of ME3 seems a lot less visually stable than, say, the Xbox 360 version -- the frame rate is choppier, the animation seems rougher."

I guess the point I would make is that there have been 4 HD Halo games this era. Compared with 1 MGS, 2 Marios, 1 (proper Wii) Zelda, 2 FF's? 1 Metroid (In the Prime line) 2 RE games, 1 (3D) CV, 1 GTA (with expansions) 1 GOW. Halo has had 4 throws of the dice this gen compared to those other franchises, they have had ample chances to best the original. So for those people that do still rate Halo 1 as the best (this doesn't include people who are not in that category) , personally I find it strange, when with all the improvements, Halo CE is still viewed as the best. Either we're not being objective enough, or objectively they haven't made a better Halo. And if it's the second result, after 4 tries with vastly improved hardware, yeah it's not quite right.
Will EA sue? I would be happy to get ME2 for free. Unless Activision want it back before they sent a replacement disc for BLOPS 2.
Outsiide of the Library level, which was still a fun level it just went on too long, I didn't have a problem at all with backtracking through those great levels in Halo 1. I LIKED it, actually....going back through them, at night, and fighting TWO enemies instead of one (one of which added a bit of a horror element) greatly changed the entire vibe and atmosphere of the game from what it was in the first half. I thought that was brilliant personally. It also made sense in terms of the story.
Many of the greatest games ever made have large amounts of backtracking...who cares as long as its done well?
Ugh....well this may be one less game to buy. Team Ninja going down the shitter?
Finished Halo 4.
Awesome game, loved what they did with the story. Great graphics, really improved over previous games. Great sound, the weapons have nice sounding effects to them & I like the grunts and gibberish the Aliens spew out. Great voice work as usual. Mostly great missions and level design....there was a few levels that had some tedious parts in them that I could have did without. The Spartan Ops missions are a nice add on, and the multi-player is better than ever. I love the mechs. METAL GEAR?!
9.0 rating from me. I think its slightly behind Xcom and ME3 for my GOTY.
Not an ex-mag, but a site made in the same style of a super group. It even features a Spinal Tap-like documentary, except that it's serious.
Polygon is just a spin-off of theVerge.com (up until now it was theverge.com/polygon) Both the Verge and Polygon have had their false starts. I'm not a fan yet.

Free 360's for ten year gold members. Damnit, I should have kept my gold up for 2 more years.
Went into the city tonight, got to see Times Square at night, amazing sight. It feels like you are in the center of the world. I went to the Nintendo World Store and played NSMBU. Its basically NSMB but looks nice, the level I played did have some pretty well hidden areas.
The most amazing thing about NY is the subway system which I see as crazy warp pipes. In it I saw crazy man yelling at nothing, keyboard guy singing and very loud homeless guy begging for money. People from every walk of life all crammed together in a moving tube.
Speaking of controllers, Razor’s Edge might seem like a $60 game, but you should really budget another $50 on top of that, as a Pro Controller is practically (but not technically) required here. While the system’s signature Wii U GamePad is plenty ergonomic, it’s simply not a good fit, literally, for the kind of action Ninja Gaiden 3 throws at you. And as far as the GamePad’s screen goes, it’s not put to much use, with a moves list for the equipped weapon on display before you rather than tucked away in a menu.
And that is the big problem. Crap, so the gamepad is going to suck for action games.
For me Halo CE is kind of hard to go back to. In my opinion Reach is better than CE, and judging by what I've played of 4, I think it'll be better than Reach.
You sir are right on ...
Great! Now play Dishonored!
Yesterday, I made a joke about Scribblenauts Unlimited for the 3DS being the most important release of the day. I meant it as a knock towards Black Ops 2. But then something funny happened. I started watching videos of Scribblenauts. Watched a developer's diary. I got interested in it, just yesterday alone. I had no intentions of buying it. Up to the day before yesterday, I didn't even realize it was coming out that soon. The Wii U version, I knew was coming, saw the added Nintendo characters, but still had no interest in whatsoever.
Just for the hell of it, to cheer myself up after all of the hard and sometimes depressing work I've been doing over the last week, I impulse bought it.
HOLY CRAP IS IT A GREAT GAME!!
The world of Scribblenauts is now a semi-open one. If you have enough Starites, you can go to any area of the map at any time. In each of those areas, there's a number of Starites to earn by doing missions --OR-- there are Starite Shards which become a whole Starite after collecting 10 of them. Not only do I love the concept of collecting shards for making people happy, but the way in which you do it... Scribblenauts vocabulary is RIDICULOUSLY IMPRESSIVE now! The fact that you can add Adjectives and Adverbs... mind-bending!
Just as an example, in a Firehouse, you'll encounter a Fireman who is trying to get sleep, but is being kept awake by a Sleeping, Snoring "Deafening Firefighter." What do you do? I made the Deafening Firefighter a "MUTE Deafening Firefighter" and it WORKED! I won't even mention the fact that there's a mission in the very same Firehouse where you need to defend it from a ZOMBIE ATTACK?!
Controlling Maxwell is a dream now! You can actually get 42 "Skins" as you unlock his family members. The creativity this game inspires is nothing short of amazing... At one point I became Maxwell's 3D glasses-wearing cousin. I had him dressed in a bannana suit, wearing a set of Pink Wings (which you CAN fly with!), riding on a Tall Giraffe in the same Firehouse! Yeah, you can even fly, using your wings WHILE riding the Giraffe. The game TRULY is Unlimited and, after not knowing it existed two days ago, I whole-heartedly recommend ANYONE and EVERYONE who has the means picking it up! SO. MUCH. FUN!
The Wii U version went from being ignored by me to being (now) one of my most anticiptated games! Best of all, I saw the Wii U version for sale already at Best Buy yesterday! SOLD!
I need to buy it.
I don't see why it would be any worse for action games...its the same goddamn controller only it has a screen. Sounds like a journo being dramatic...big shocker.
You don't have to be gold still? I was gold from the first day but then dropped gold and went silver about 2 years ago. I guess the story was not featured here. Gameinformer.com has it.

I can't comment credibly because I don't have Reach or ODST. But I played Halo almost yearly right up until last year and I still loved it. I am going to start researching whether ODST, Reach and H4 as sold here in Au are playable on a US 360. This sucks frankly. (my fault for moving , I know).
It's just big and hitting sticks and the top buttons is just weird. I can't see myself playing button gymnastics with the pad.
