I am very happy with the way Halo 4 has been received.  It could have gone the other way entirely.

Also, on the entire Geof Keighly/ Eurogamer drama, Giantbomb has a revealing and thoughtful discussion of it toward the back end of their most recent podcast.  Certainly worth listening to if you want some deep background on PR, Marketing, Freelancers, Mock Reviews and some details specific the incident that sparked the furor.

For me I don't get why people say that others are buying the same game over and over. Each Halo game is a new experience for me. Each game is a continuation of an overall and growing story. Each game adds to an evolving multiplayer experience. I don't hold my games to radically change things up when it comes to gameplay for each subsequent game.

Yeah, it's like bands.  Most popular bands have 2-3 songs they rehash endlessly into new songs of decades. It's just what creative output is like.  Look at painters too, like Monet.  When an artist hits on a distinctive theme that brings them popularity they tend to stick with it.

I'm a little indifferent towards Halo.  I guess it stems from my fanboy days when the Xboxand GameCube launched within days of each other.  I was bound and determined to claim that Luigi's Mansion was the better launch game.  I even tried I wipe the slate clean and start again when I bought Anniversary last year.  The most enjoyment that I got out of that one was the few online matches that I had with Steel.  I don't think I even completed Anniversary.  I've finished 1,2,and 3 and will surely finish 4,but it just isn't as exciting of a series as it should be to me.  Blame Luigi's Mansion. Nyaa

I also prefer Luigi's Mansion.

Much more excited about LM2 than H4

For a few reasons, I am a bit terrified of angry crowds and mob mentality. I haven't been able to get into the city for the last week, due to the trains/subways being shut down and car-services being canceled due to the gas shortage. I have been stuck where I am and forced to go where I need to go in the neighborhood on foot or take short trips for necessities by car. What I have seen, I will never forget. The National Guard has actually been called in. Police have been wearing Riot Gear and showing their weapons JUST at the local gas pumps, as people have gotten THAT desperate. I have been involved in one fight defending an elderly WOMAN trying to get gas for her generator and have seen MANY, MANY, MANY grown men and women FIGHTING on these lines... and this was two (3?) days ago when things weren't even as bad as they are now. Supposedly the gas situation will be alleviated in the next day or two as ports have been opened up and tankers and trucks will be delivering fuel as quickly as they can... I have been posting, playing and trying to act as if things as fine and normal, but, in reality, nope. I don't like the feeling of anxiety I have been feeling over the last week and I am trying to keep it together for the people around me... at least we have power! ...but for the most part, things are still VERY TOUGH and VERY BAD!

This boat didn't start out in front of this house, in the driveway, or such, it FLOATED here during the storm!

The famous Jones Beach Boardwalk is GONE!

This is a typical home, at the moment.

Yup. These are the streets.

Couldn't have put it any better myself.

No crossing.

All areas, for richer or poorer are affected.

I feel for you and everyone involved.  I remember when Hugo hit South Carolina.  Charleston was blocked off for weeks.  I remember seeing video of the beach house location that we stayed at two months prior.  It was gone, completely gone.

Yup thats how a hurricane is, damn that sucks but you have power so that is more important than anything right now. I never had power outage for more than two days so I have been lucky as well.

And I was getting excited to go to NYC next week.  First time I have been back in forever.

My dad just had a new pacemaker put in and is doing a ton better.  He was having trouble breathing and moving due to fluids that he was retaining.  This new pacemaker should do the trick.  He already looks so much better.  If you asked me a month ago, I would've told you that i didn't think he would live to see 2013.  Now, things are looking more optimistic.

I've played about an hour of B2 yesterday and that was it.  This week has been crazy!  I've  found myself going to bed at about nine , worn out from Halloween and school activities. Working to pay off this loan I've inherited from my mom has taken its toll on me as we'll.  One day off in ten weeks sucks!

I'm not gonna lie, it's gotten me down lately.  I get depressed when I dwell on it.  I gotta keep positive and think about how this nightmare will one day be over.  I try to think of it like I'm paying for a second car.

I guess that's just my nice way of putting it.  Truth be told, I signed for a loan for my mother a few years back, supposedly to pay for my grandmother's funeral expenses. Lets just say I discovered a lot of crazy shit about her this past year.  She's wronged a good many people and lost her job.  Now I'm working a second job on Saturdays and Sundays to pay off this loan.

Jeez, didn't mean to tell everything like this, but that's how it is for me now.
