Wall Street Journal:
The sequel to the highly acclaimed 2009 Borderlands game goes on shelves Tuesday in Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions for around $60. At that price point, the first-person shooter, published by 2K Games, inevitably invites comparisons with the Halos and Calls of Duty games already out and due to come in the next few weeks and months. Borderlands 2 falls short because it’s missing several key elements you need to have in a 2012 first-person shooter game – most notably, a rich multiplayer online mode. There’s an extremely limited four-player cooperative mode, and if you have an Xbox Live Gold account, you can team up that way, but this isn’t the type of deeply engrossing FPS game the headset-wearing COD crowds gather to play months and months after release. In comparison, I read on several sites that COD: Black Ops 2 will feature up to six teams, for a total of 18 simultaneous players, in multiplayer mode.
I can't believe they screwed up RE6 so badly.
I also can't believe that the WSJ author screwed up the BL2 review so badly.
Why is the WSJ even reviewing games?
Nope.

Edge, since you are building a new PC, perhaps you'l choo-choo-choose this train shaped case?
PC Gamer: Full Story -- shows it in motion.
It’s a PC case, shaped like a steam train. ...
Designed by Lian Li the PC-CK101 is a mini-ITC chassis which comes in two versions – one fixed model for the mantlepiece and one that you can actually put on a track and send off to do a circuit of the room. I’ve never been especially fixated by trains (although my uncle did own a renovated steam engine), but this is fantastic.
I’m checking my diary to make sure there isn’t a Taiwanese equivalent of April Fool’s Day I’ve not heard of before. Lian Li is apparently also selling track parts for the PC-CK101 to run on and the kit includes a jam jar like module for producing steam. The case itself stands 18.5cm high by 51.5cm long and weight 4.5Kg. Isambard Kingdom Brunel would surely approve.
This is just a smoke screen. Its still gonna happen.
Your theory makes complete sense. But then... you know... this is Square we are talking about.
Fair point. Now that I've reconsidered its probably going to end up on the PSP with no adjustments made for touchpad controls.
So with the co-founders of BioWare leaving can we now start calling them BioRARE?
That's too bad, but is this really going to effect them that much? So many people are saying how EA ruined Bioware but I mean, in what way? They've made some of their best games ever, under EA.
I think those two guys maybe realised they probably created the best stuff they possibly could this gen, in Mass Effect and Dragon Age. They peaked...so its time to move on?
Hey Edge, I've got a question. I haven't been following the tech specs aspect of the Wii U at all. I have no clue about its Graphics Card, etc... From what you have read and what you have seen of the comparisons between the PC and Current Console versions of Borderlands 2, do you think the Wii U will be strong enough to implement the advanced Physics Engine of the PC version?
Well considering all 3 console makers are using Radeon custom cards and PhysX is an Nvidia only thing, I don't think ANY of them will be able to. But I could be wrong?
Wii U seems to be somewhere in between a Radeon 4870 and 5850. The other new consoles are reportedly based on a 6870 for PS4 and a 7850 for the Nextbox. All cards that are available right now.
Insane...
I'm going with these:
Cooler Master HAF X
ASRock Z77 OC Formula LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 SSI CEB Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
EVGA 04G-P4-2686-KR GeForce GTX 680 w/ Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16
I checked, it is almost exactly five years to the day since EA bought BioWare so it looks like they were fulfilling thier buy-out obligations by staying on 5 years after the purchase.
In my view Bioware has been on the decline since EA made them one of their four divisions, just as Maxis declined after Wright left and was made a full division (and just as Rare died when the Stamper Brothers left).
EA paid up to $620 million in cash to the stockholders of VG Holding to get their hands on the companies, They also gave $155 million in equity to "certain employees of VG Holding" and is lending the company up to $35 million.
Meh...I'd rather Bioware worked on something new at this point. Love Mass Effect, but it was supposed to end at 3.
Gots me some Borderlands 2! Lovin' it! It's like a comfortable pair of jeans you can just slip right into. It's familiar, but it's as addicting as ever. The --ONLY-- problem I had with the original was the motivation to play kinda wore out after the umpteenth "go there and kill that guy" mission. Granted, I never really got to play online with anyone, so that may have changed my perspective altogether on the original. The sequel is supposedly very well written and overall improved, so I am pretty sure this one is going to last me a long, long while! Pandora awaits!
**I'll also concede that it is very hard playing it on the 360 and NOT missing the amazing physics effects the PC version has with the newest graphics card!**
