HOLY NERDGASM, BATMAN!
I can't say much about gameplay, story or length so far, but as far as atmosphere and fan-service goes, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron ---NAILS--- it! This is the War on Cybertron formula PERFECTED; it's true certain things were taken out of the game (multiplayer-wise mostly) like Double-Jumping, Kill-Streaks and Vehicle tricks --BUT-- the weight of the Transformers themselves and the control of the vehicles are now spot-on!
The graphics are sooo much more solid now. There are recognizable characters ALLLLLLL over the place now. The action, though heavily scripted, makes you feel as if you are taking part in an episode of the G1 show, smack in the middle of an Autobot/Decepticon war!
It scares me that there aren't any reviews out yet --ON-- the actual launch day (as of 12:45PM EST) --BUT-- if you were EVER a Transformers fan, the nostalgia this game brings is UNPRECEDENTED!
Reviews be damned! This was a game made by OBVIOUS Transformers fans --FOR-- diehard Transformers fans!
RIP
Reviews for Fall of Cybertron are mixed, but averaging in the 80's. Doesn't matter though, this paragraph from Kotaku summarizes why anyone would want to play the game, regardless of critical opinion:

"The pieces of plastic that filled my toy box as a child were more than just toys. Each colorful figure liberated from that battered wooden prison had a story to tell. I gave them dreams. I gave them voices. Though Hasbro laid the groundwork, I gave them personalities as diverse as their functions. There was a war going on, sure, but I was more concerned with the characters than any overarching purpose, even one as grand as survival of the species.
After playing Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, I get the feeling that the High Moon folks feel the same way about their toys."

Nintendo Power ceases publication after 24 years. End of an era.
Sucks. That's Where Phil Theobald works
“Well, that got out,” said writer Phil Theobald on Twitter.
“For what it's worth,” he told me in response, “we have something pretty sweet planned for the final issue.”
NP was always an interesting magazine, but the quality really went up when Future Publishing took it over. I wonder if this will change Nintendo's relationship with the remaining magazines? I doubt it.

Joystiq:

Princess Held Captive
Only the Mushroom King's Daughter, Princess Toadstool, can undo the dastardly spell. But alas, she's being held captive by Bowser, the Koopa Turtle King.
Players, Your challenge is to guide Mario, the story's hero, through a maze of strange and wonderful worlds to rescue the Princess.
Sounds easy? Don't be too sure. Beware of firebreathing dragons, man-eating plants and cliffs of no return. And always keep your eyes peeled for deadly koopa warriors.
Mario has Special Powers
Yes, this game is filled with sinister obstacles... but it also has ways for clever players to avoid them. Special Powers turn Mario into Super Mario, Fiery Mario, or Invincible Mario.
Wow. Describing Mario Bros. before Mario was a household name is... awkward...
Who the HELL is the Mushroom King?!
