Harsh.
Here it's been sunny and warm but raining all the time. I don't have clothes for this weather, or an umbrella.
Bro.
EA VP Gibeau says:
"In general we're thinking about how we make this a more broadly appealing franchise, because ultimately you need to get to audience sizes of around five million to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space. Anything less than that and it becomes quite difficult financially given how expensive it is to make games and market them."
He is clearly saying that if the game does not sell 5 million it "becomes quite difficult financially given how expensive it is to make games and market them." Otherwise they will find it difficult "to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space."
Thus the game is so expensive to make and market, "it becomes quite difficult financially " to make more Dead Space games.
Because "Anything less than " 5 million isn't enough.
EA said it and we read it right. No one is saying that the dev budget is $300 million just for the programming "given how expensive it is to make games and market them."
And if technology is higher spec for the next consoles and budgets go up -we already heard that Durango art budgets have doubled- the risk becomes even higher and there is a bigger danger when games flop. Budgets are like going on the upswing of a rollercoaster towards a peak. Developers are closing left right and center, more powerful machines and the required larger budgets are not going to do anything to help. You get safe, homegenised mega-budget sequels and I get bored out of my mind.
I've never played Nights, so I will check it out. I've never played any of the Saturn's classics. Thought about buying one off Ebay like 6 years ago, but didn't. Oh cool...its coming to Steam too!
I can only imagine how many HD remakes are going to be released on the Wii U. I sold most of my Wii library because I expect this to happen. Nintendo could make a killing off of the N64, Gamecube, and Wii classics in HD with widescreen, a la Rare's games on Xbox Live. I can't say I'm bothered by the trend though..I mean if I can have better looking and possibly controlling versions of some of my favorite games then I'll take 'em.
Some of these classics could use a complete remake, a la Resident Evil on Cube though. Which would be nice to see. But others, like the Banjo N64 games, are pretty much fine as they are with just the bump up in resolution and improved controls.
Iga!
I want the old Iga back.
Say something for gods sake. Troll Vader.
Anything. Don't just lurk.
I demand a Vader troll.
^ Did you not see everything that happened yesterday.
Nights??? NIGHTS!!!! Wow, Sega did something good!

Sideways was solid, but they really didn't do enough with the perspective shit by the end of it.
Yoda:
It only takes 18 hours, what took you so long?
I'm glad to know this, because I put 35 hours into the 360 version when I stopped and realised that if I try to do every quest in this game, its going to take me forever and I'm going to fall WAAAAY behind in my backlog. Then I decided to switch to the PC version and start over, which I've yet to do outside of the opening part. So at least I know I can finish the main quest if I want then go back and play the side stuff as I have time.
