Halo 3 done, best of the three. So can someone tell me what the hell the ending meant???
Started Crackdown, no sir I dont like it. Its pretty crappy.
You must be missing something. I tried playing that game 2-3 times before it finally took. And when it did it was one of my favorite games of the year. Oh well.
I beat Halo 3 for the second time this year, I have no idea what any of the story was.
This has so much appeal to me...
Mini rant time. What the hell happend to the average gaming public to go from loving Halo a ton, it being the #1 console FPS to CoD taking over. Basically we went from an orginal interesting FPS that tried to create a new kind of game with deep AI that can recreate full scale war battles while keeping all the elements of an up close FPS. You have a series with giant open areas, with multiple vehicles to choose from to approach a battle the way you want, CHOICES. You have this awesome sci-fi world created from the ground up with so many interesting weapons, so many cool things that work so well in a FPS. Then there is the multiplayer which is as good as any we have ever seen, with loads of options and fun game modes that include those vehicles and super cool weapons.
We go from that to mindless rollercoaster blow everything the fuck up nonsense. I enjoy the CoD games but as a rental for the campaign. Yeah the multiplayer is fantastic and deep, the exp thing changed shooters forever but now all games have caught up with that. Why would anyone rather play something you have little control over. Plus its the same shit every year. Why is this franchise still the king, end this damn generation just so we can have a new one.
The general public had way better gaming taste, the GTA games are all time masterpieces, that is a series to be proud of as the king of sales. Halo for FPS, that was something deep, interesting, worthy. CoD not so much, not at the other two franchises level. I guess most of this comes from the multiplayer side of things, CoD must do something to make feel they want to play ungodly amount of hours... something not even Halo with all its fun modes cant match. (I know the sci-fi vs real has something to do with it too. to me Sci-fi > real anytime)
I honestly don't even have any interest in the game itself. What I do have issue with is them proudly naming him the guy who hates what everyone loves and loves what everyone hates...
That was the guy behind the Skyward Sword controversy and quite a few other review scandals GS has had in the last few years...
If he has a reputation of being contrary like that and it is THAT predictable, it's almost like it's being done on purpose and the reviews are just being manipulated just to stir up controversy...
Suspect.
I really just wanted to show everyone the (not so subtle at all) shout out to our site.
I don't know. I prefer arcade shooters (I guess you'd call them non-military shooters) too, but they don't sell and I don't know why. Maybe if games were cheaper people who play CoD annually would experiment more with other shooters (maybe they do on the used market where sales are not tracked).
CoD is like Madden or FIFA, it has a built in subscription base where they people who like it enjoy it every year. I don't begrudge them, but I do wish there was more space for games like Bulletstorm and Vanquish that offer something a little different. Foolz and I have talked about this on the podcast a couple fo times this year.
As for Halo, I still enjoy the original (up until this year I've beaten it annually I think). The reason I have not enjoyed what followed was that they were superfluous. None of the sequels improved on the original. It's how I feel about Doom too.
That was great Leo.
Well done Leo
I genuinely enjoyed listening to McShea back when gamespot had a podcast and found myself agreeing with him on most games. His circular arguments and inability to clearly express his views seem to frustrate himself even more than those trying to reason with him.
I am not a fan of converging game editorial with op-ed with personality writing. If you want to be angrygamer on youtube, go with that, but while you are being paid to be a professional reviewer, stick to the games and drop the schtick.
I'm getting the feeling that the 3DS XL grew out of Nintendo's want to have it interact with the Wii U. I know, I know "NO SECOND ANALOG STICK!" --BUT-- I think in a very Nintendo-like fashion they are going to try to emphasize Gyroscope controls for both the Wii U Gamepad and the 3DS over using the second analog in it's traditional sense. The 2nd analog on the Wii U controller is more likely there due to accommodating lefties than FPS game controls.
Yeah but for $200? That's an expensive second controller. Other than that, you are probably on to something.
I hope they are making money on the LL at $200 as opposed to the money losing 3DS (which could be another reason to release it).
I do think the second stick will not ever be a reality, because it would just add more cost to the 3DS, which is the last thing Nintendo wants.
PS: Last night I was petting my cat when, out of nowhere, she suddenly clamped down on and BIT that extra skin between my thumb and pointer finger on my left hand. She bit a hole right through it. I was bleeding like a son of a bitch.
That's it! I am done with Pussies of all shapes, sizes and species...
I watched a movie the other night called Teeth it was about a girl who has a Vagina with teeth well you can imagine the rest.....
WTF I bought Conan for 4 bucks, I hear it's pretty fun.
Wow Euro gamer loved it to the tune of a rare 9 from them
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-06-22-lego-batman-2-dc-super-heroes-review
Like I said, I don't really care about the game in the least --BUT-- McShea's review is one of the lowest out there. It is averaging 8's and 9's out of 10.
I took advantage of the Deus Ex deal on Steam and got the DLC for Human Revolution as well as Deus Ex: Invisible War. Used to have that one on Xbox back in the day, I liked it. Not as good as DE 1 or Human Revolution, but still a fun game.
No....
Halo 3 was better than 2 for sure, but definitely not Combat Evolved. Did you play Anniversary yet?
Halo was original?
