Thanks for the compliment.
No problem.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileAlthough sales were lower the main reason why they posted a loss was because of the 3DS price cut, remember that they lose money for every unit sold, the more they sell the more they lose.
They say that by September they will be making profit on each unit sold and expect to return to profitability next year. This year is an inbetween gen thing, where costs are higher as they gear up for new consoles and sales of older consoles flag. Perfect storm.
A weird thing to say for a Sega fan. Do I need to bring up the Dreamcast?
Nintendo didn't need to launch the new console any sooner than what they have planned. Their only problem was not supporting the Wii in 2011. When you go 9 months without releasing a game for anyone other than kids under the age of 10 it sort of gives the impression that you've abandoned the audience, and that in turn makes peiple look to other consoles. A price cut for thw Wii probably wouldn't have been a bad idea either. I'd certainly be inclined to get a new Wii if I didn't have to pay $150 for one.
I have a feeling they pushed back the release to get more software ready for launch. From what they were saying about 3DS and everything.
I can't get an embed code for this video, but you guys really need to check it out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiePaAHK3jE&feature=player_embedded#at=20
It's a video of the old 8 and 16 bit games we used to play done in extreme close up dramatic fashion. Really cool.
The wii is a dead console right now, bury it's ass before people stop giving a shit about your products.
The DC died because of its horrendously shaped controller.
It was a good death.
And you just killed Vader with your post. Heh, he was getting boring anyways.
DC controller was complete and utter shit. You can measure the quality of a man by whether or not he can admit that.
My understanding from a few interviews was that Nintendo got so focused on the 3DS that they neglected the Wii. I don't know what the hell they were thinking if that was true though. Did they expect the declining 3rd party support was suddenly going to materialize?
Huh? Can you share your logic on that one.
My business strategy is wrong because I wouldn't have stuck with dated, shit technology for 6 years that gets supported by about two quality games per year over the past two years.
I understand why they did it. Nintendo is a penny pinching company if there ever was one, the Wii sold a ton more units than the Gamecube and they wanted to milk it for all its worth. Great job. But why do I care? I don't, which is why probably 95% of my gaming purchases have been on competing platforms over the past 2 years.
Feature: Sierra's History
This was a fun read for me. Sierra On-line adventure games (and even a few of their non-adventure games) from the late 80's to the mid 90's were without question the most important games to me at that time. Regardless of what console games I had, a Sierra game immediately took precident over anything else. It's a real shame the genre wasn't able to continue on.
Xbox 360 came out early and did great. None of these companies are SEGA so comparing any of them to Dreamcast, or trying to use that as some proof that releasing early doesn't work, is foolish. In fact last year wouldn't have been early any damn way, it would have been a full 5 year cycle just like the Gamecube got.
Whoa whoa whoa.....Robio my friend, you need to take a step back and realise that questioning Nintendo's moves is the wrong thing to do.
Ooooh crap the Dragon Quest X trailer is getting me stoked. As I've said, once this game comes out, the only way you'll be able to contact me is if the game has any kind of in-game communication function. Really hope they find a way to bring it here by the end of the year. That may be too much to hope for though. I don't think there's ever been a DQ game that's been released in the US within less than a year of it's Japan launch.
